Sqaule147, give us a blow by blow turn by turn, run down the straight commentary on what happened. I want details! A 5 mile run had to be AWESOME!! I'm assuming at the end of a three mile stretch you had the Busa topped out at 186? Like I said, it had to be awesome!

couldn't have said it better. remove the limiters, get rid of the secondaries and the bike is a true monster.

Removed my secondaries almost two years ago! Turned off the limiters a couple months ago. I still need a dyno tune and a full exhaust(just have gutted cat and slipons now), but wow, what a difference!

If you and the other rider were equally skilled, weighed the same, and the bikes were both stock, you would have lost. Especially if twisty roads were involved. Sorry, but something is not equal in your equation.

i'd like to see one going down the 1/4 ..have yet to see one run up here the the north east. i know i can get mine just lowered and strap (typical exhaust and power commander) went 9:54 @149 i think after some seat time BMW would be close don't think it would go much faster again turn a few corner stock for stock BMW would have a busa beat....it's more like a gsxr 1000

There are a couple of new kids in town, and there's more to follow. The day of the busa being the fastest or most powerful are done. It's a great bike and I didn't buy it because of it's reputation anyway, but for those of you that did, well, I have some rather bad news.

That's funny because I have YET to see a BMW run stock or modded close to what the BUSA's are running in 1-mile accel...

I'm all for newer bikes being bigger, badder, better and believe the new stk BMW will whoop a stk and possibly mildly modded Busa. If I had the $$$ I would own one and not look back. However, one has to realize the new BMW is NOT the fastest nor quickest thing running around. Maybe stk for stk with same rider, at least for the moment. Oldgixxer said his bike was not stk, so that opens up an whole new can of worms. He did'nt mention at the time the mods he had done. From your post it seems you think a N/A motored Busa of any kind could not keep up with a 195rwhp BMW. Obviously you have NO CLUE what can be done to them nor how they perform. Do you even know how "Horsepower" is determined? Its TORQUE X RPM. The Busa makes much more TQ across a broader range. Oldgixxer's Busa is prolly making 210-225(or more) hp to the wheel and prolly over 110lbs/ft of Tq(peak numbers) or more. I'll bet his average HP is much higher than the 195rwhp(peak) Beemer. I'll take average hp over peak hp anyday. Obviously his bike is more than making up for its extra heft as is shown by it trapping mid 160's...
Brock Davidson set up a stk motored BMW1000 for dragracing(pipe/PC/non-oring chain/cam timing) and threw Ryan Schnitz on it to make some passes. He trapped a best of 158-159mph. This bike was making right at 195-205 to the wheel, had a 135lb suited rider and as you know the bike is much lighter than a Busa. This bike was prepped right by professional dragracers/tuners and ridden by one of the best in the world. If that bike trapped just under 160mph, what on earth makes you think an average Joe on a 195 rwhp BMW is gonna stay with oldgixxer's Busa that is trapping mid 160's? Don't care how much lighter the BMW is or what, all that is taken in to account by looking at the mph it pulls. I'm not attacking BMW's, nor rooting for a Busa. Just this case in paticular, you have no clue what you are talking about.

That sucker IS a BEAST! Looks like its a lil more than your run of the mill 1441. With that bike, i would'nt be afraid to line up with most NITROUS or TURBO bikes! Even short like it is. What kinda times have you run with it? If you can 60' it(from the way the bike is setup, i'm sure your pretty adept at launching it), i'm guessing you'd run low-mid 8's?
Tekken, I hope you realize what a monster this bike is? Not your run of the mill Busa for sure...

We don't even have to go that extreme of mods. The BMW is quick in the 1/4-mile but a stock motor BUSA is still beating them in 1-mile racing...
