Made the dumb mistake of have the stealership install frame sliders on my new 0 miles 06 LE. They put them way high on the frame. I'll post pics but they installed them in the same location as this guys.

Now they are telling me that the instructions said to put them there. The upper engine mount bolt. I'm furious.. sounds like they don't want to replace my plastics!! I even sent them like 20 pics of bikes on here that show where the sliders go. They are like " just because everyone else's are mounted there doesn't make it right, and all the manufacturers are different" So any help in this matter would be great. I will post the name of the manufacturer when I get it. He said he is going to fax me the instructions. I can't believe the instructions would say to install them there.
hey man i really feel your pain...
luckily my dealer were fine with fixing their mistake.
if i can help in anyway let me know buddy.
i can give you my dealer info and maybe you can have your dealer contact them and see that they did do it wrong.
good luck!
Speed.. Any help at all would be great. Name and contact to the dealership that made the mistake on yours and a phone number. Maybe they can explain it to them. Dealer to Dealer. Might help. Thanks..

huh that sucks.Maybe get them to buy and install a
2nd set of sliders in the proper location, and you get double
the protection. Not sure what it would look like though.

Thats now 2 dealers and 1 member that has done this mounting. Not sure what they are thinking. I like your idea about blowing up the mail box, if they don't fix it at no cost to you let us know and we can email them large files every day all day long.

I've actually been talking to the guy at Pro-Tek, the company that makes the sliders. I've sent him pics from the site here, and he wants to have them as reference when people ask about installation. Like the dealership that screwed mine up. He said he actually got the instructions he sent them from another site. So he is pretty much agreeing with me that all these pics are the right location. So case in point, the dealer screwed em up!

Thanks for everyones help thus far, Its not over yet I'll keep ya posted.

Wanted to let everyone know that its all worked out at the stealership. YEAHHHHHHH. But they still insist they installed it correctly. They told me again just because everyone else installs them that way doesn't make it right. WTF? everyone else in the entire world is wrong, and some little dealership in Indiana is right? Anyhow its all taken care of. So thanks again all for you help.. Damn I love this site.

I seen the factory suzuki sliders at the nyc bike show and tried to read the directions, but they were covered. Has anyone installed the factory suzuki sliders? What does the factory instructions say?

Has anyone seen or used this kind before?
No cutting required. Replaces exsisting Fastener.

bolt does not look strong enough for me... looks like they may work if you softly lay the bike down on its side

Photo of the no-cuts I got from Street&Track...attaches to the correct engine mount with brackets. Hard to see because I painted the brackets hi-temp black and the steel body of the slider the 05 LE Phantom grey metallic.

Those things are crap that became popular in the UK for some odd reason.

They attach to your state of the art light weight frame with a skinny fairing bolt. I've heard of people hitting them with their leg as they walk by and snapping the damn things off.

Put a medium size rock on the ground and line it up with the frame of your Busa. Now drop your Busa on that rock and see what happens.

Without them, this guys bike would have only needed a new fairing.

Actually that is pretty true with almost all the Frame sliders I have seen on crashed bikes in the shop. In a VERY minor (Not Moving) tip over the Frame sliders may prevent any damage and you'll be high fiving yourself. BUT On about a dozen or so customer bikes over the last 8 months I have seen the sliders tweek the frame, or fold over and tweek the frame resulting in the bike being written off, or needing a new frame.

The (No Cut) frame sliders may help protect the frame by providing a deformable structure between the slider and the frame, but at the same time, that lever provides even more leverage for an impact to tweek the frame.

Pretty much what I am getting at is that I recommend against using frame sliders, and I don't run em' myself. If I found just a few cases of where a Frame slider saved someones plastics from any damage and all that needed replacing was a slider I would have a different opinion. But what I have seen over and over is a rashed up bike needing serious plastic work AND a new slider. So where is the benefit? Why ruin plastics with big holes cut out to only "Maybe" reduce some damage but not eliminate it?

I can see where they may be useful on the track as it might keep you running for the rest of the race but otherwise rashed plastics are still rashed and the only real fix for a panel that has slid down the tarmac is replacement.

My .02 anyway.

One thing to remember is to ALLWAYS ask the service writers or the Technician if they have installed frame sliders on a Busa Before? We have a Tech that is a fuggin master with the frame sliders, he just has a great touch and allways produces perfectly centered, smooth holes that look factory.

So just be certain to get recomendations from folks.

As for getting this resolved keep your cool, tell them EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT DONE. Be patient, and be persistant, and walk it up the chain. If the instructions said to install them there that's fine but the dealership should know better, let them take it up with the manufacterer.

Fact remains you have an a55ed up bike.

Don't call em a fuggin stealership that will get you nothing and you'll need good luck in court. Keep your attitude in check, keep your cool, and be professional. Tell THEM EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT DONE. You want two NEW Body Panels, that you want your bike back the way it was before it came into service. Simple and to the point. Be persistant, write letters to the management.
