its called extradition....US Marshalls will escort them back to Haiti if needed.
so to summarize:
1. 10 Americans went to to Haiti
2. lied to parents and families of 33 children and took them to Dominican Republic
3. bus was stopped at border and Americans were arrested.
4. After 3 week investigation, 8 have been released on promise to return for further questioning
5. 2 Americans are still in a Haiti jail.
the whole deal looked shady, after an investigation it looks as if the two leaders were dishonest to not only the people of Haiti, the children they kidnapped but even the people that volunteered from thier church.
Was the release paid for? maybe.....but the question remains why were only 8 of the ten released.
perhaps after investigation, they found they only had a case for the 2 leaders.
either way, i hope that this is a learning experience for all those that would plan to go to other countries, under the belief that "being an american" or "god will protect us" will think twice about breaking child trafficing laws in other countries...
PS: there are millions of "american kids" that could use a good place to live, but i guess its a little harder to kidnap 30 american kids.
