Americans Arrested While Taking Children From Haiti

Your correct lesson learned.Haitian goverment dont go locking up innocent americans.

IF THEY DID SUCH A terrible thing as you say.Why did they cut them loose? WEll most of them.

I gotto go with Da Col and believe they cut them loose because the first 8 checks cleared. When the payment for the other 2 clears we will see them let go as well.

Now about that clause that says they must return for more questioning...

its called extradition....US Marshalls will escort them back to Haiti if needed.

so to summarize:

1. 10 Americans went to to Haiti

2. lied to parents and families of 33 children and took them to Dominican Republic

3. bus was stopped at border and Americans were arrested.

4. After 3 week investigation, 8 have been released on promise to return for further questioning

5. 2 Americans are still in a Haiti jail.

the whole deal looked shady, after an investigation it looks as if the two leaders were dishonest to not only the people of Haiti, the children they kidnapped but even the people that volunteered from thier church.

Was the release paid for? maybe.....but the question remains why were only 8 of the ten released.

perhaps after investigation, they found they only had a case for the 2 leaders.

either way, i hope that this is a learning experience for all those that would plan to go to other countries, under the belief that "being an american" or "god will protect us" will think twice about breaking child trafficing laws in other countries...

PS: there are millions of "american kids" that could use a good place to live, but i guess its a little harder to kidnap 30 american kids.

Well 1st of all I dont think they even want them back.
I think it has been a good learning exp for those that might falsly imprison americans better think twice.
no a good lawyer heck even a cheap lawyer could fight that 4 ever.
If they had commited a crime they never would have released them.

Hey I hear there are some kids in Angola who need help and I have decided to go.
Anyone feel like going with ?

Here is a pic of the child I have decided to sponsor and try to bring home with me.
He is the one on lower left saying 'HI Mom'....

Kinda of makes it obvious why they did not go to Africa eh ?

nobody was falsely imprisoned....they were detained during an investigation. they were caught trying to leave the country with 30 kidnapped children

even americans need to follows the laws when they visit other countries.

fight what, that did not have 30 children in a bus trying to leave the country. they had thier investigation.

release, not all were released.

so in the end, because they thought they were above the law :

1. got to spend 3 weeks in a HAitian jail
2. spent thousands of dollars, and helped zero children, fed zero children and save zero children

yeah...good job Baptists.

Whats your source? The 8 freed charges have been droped they just agreed 2 go back if needed if the 2 woman being held now go 2 court.from what I heard 2day thats unlikely 2 happen.talking 2 cnn 2day the leader of the group a baptist christian praised god+forgives the hatians 4 there obvious mistake.thats one of the things makes christians better than others there ability 2 4 give.Im not so much intrested in meaningless opinions.Just whats actualy taking place.

dis-proven by what?

where have you seen that?

8 were released, but the leader was kept....so going by your logic it proves 2 are in fact guilty?

By the fact they interviewed the parents and the parents said "we gave them permission to take our children". Where have I seen it....oh just about every major news organization from CNN, to MSNBC, FOX, etc. I mean you know even the left organizations are saying the same as the right there must be some truth to it.

I'm not sure how you're applying "my" logic to the fact 2 are guilty??? The investigation is still on-going. I can only speculate the other 2 are being held to verify their ties with the others involved (outside the church group). Once the investigation is complete I would be surprised if they weren't released also.
