Hello,
I REALLY need some HELP. I have a 99 1st gene busa aka my husband that will not stay started. Initially, I was losing power and acceleration was I was riding. If I twisted my throttle it would eventually catch and start riding normal. I did have a power commander on it that died when I moved from Colorado to Texas when I was mapping it. I did not replace the power commander but did replace the throttle cables, this did not fix the issues. I than replaced the external fuel pump (with an aftermarket, changed the spark plug, changed the oil, put a K&N air filter on, cleaned my throttle body, replaced the battery, replace tip over sensor, adjust my kick-stand tab, and adjusted the throttle position sensor. My husband fires up like a champ but dies and shuts off about 2-4 minutes after that. When I try to restart it he tries but never turns over. If I leave it for 10-15 minutes he will start right back up but does the same thing again. It like he get a big gulp of gas to start but nothing after that! I think it maybe my fuel pressure regulator or fuel relay. I don’t know how to test those or what else it could be. I am so frustrated…..please someone help!
