what are the typical waypoints for the four corners ride? a few years ago some one posted as they were going to do it in 9 days, but had to cut it short...I think because of weather perhaps. can't remember who or when. trying to think of something for next year to make up for this sucky year...if all goes well.

that one looks like a lot of fun, have you done any of the other rides?

make sure you do the Saddlesore 1000 first and turn the paperwork in as the IBA won't accept any other rides unless you do it first...BusaWhipped and i are trying to do the 1000 in two weekends if the weather cooperates

Go to the iron Butt Association and look at the 4 corners ride. It's a long one. Wardie

4 Corners

Key West Fla
Madawaska, Maine
Blaine, Washington
Border Field State Park, Cal (on the Border with Tijuana)

9 days seems very optimistic, my route of 500 miles per day average, equaled 18 days ! Yeah, you could maybe do it in 9 (some can, I couldn't) , but going through Canada (shortest way) could slow you down (roads in the best months will either have TOURIST by the Jillions, or miles and miles of road contruction from winter destruction ! Anyway, how it works is you get your entry packet, photo each place and MAIL the photo (shows post date at a local PO with noted Name on it:rulez:) to the HQ (use to be in Cal) and ride ! You have 22 days to complete the tour (which isn't hard at all) ! Making and studing your route is the hardest (along with counting on down days for maintance and weather) part, but most interesting and fun.

Just One of the 3 Big Rides to complete my personal IBA list I have planned to take in my future

Then, I'am thinking about a trip from Pump Station #1 in Alaska and then down to Key West. Peter Egan did this trip in just over 100 hours ::11 (NO JOKE and with a broken toe no less - Man's an ANIMAL) , and me, well maybe 15 DAYS so I can enjoy the trip

cool, thanks for the info. if all goes well, I'd have 12 days (one of the few things good 'bout shift work) to do it. alot of things need to fall in place, but I do alot of daydreaming in hope it will. last night I read Pashnits Alaska trip...it's on my bucket list now:thumbsup:
