stayed with the firemen in Sterling VA last night. not a good place to get some rest. alarms all night. alot like jail..but different. still glad i had a place to stay.

And Motorcycle Mall taking care of Russ. Oil change and top off fluids with a once over safety check. Bikes good to go. Rode with him to the Garden state parkway where he set off on his next leg of the journey.

It is with my deepest regret that I must inform y'all, after careful consideration of the weather and finally reaching my physical and mental limit; I have turned around and am headed back home.

Today when I rode out from the motel it was 35 deg. It warmed up to 42 by the time I broke. I could not feel my feet from the ankles down, and I could not close my left hand. Going north it was only going to get colder. With bad weather headed my way, for my own personal safety, I cried in my helmet and at 9050mi, i turned around at the Ny Mass border.

Every man has his limits and I reached my edge.

I have said this trip is about the message I'm carrying, and not the ride. I just never ever expected I wouldn't make it.

I will continue to do press events as I ride towards home.
I have one tomorrow just east of Utica at 2pm est.

Thank you to everyone for their loving support on this trip.
Maine will always be there, and I WILL return!

2000mi+ to get home.
Wish me luck and good weather.

Scencerly

Just change the thread title from '4 corners , 10,000 miles' to '4 corners or 10,000 miles' and you'll be fine.

You have already done more than what 99% could or would so don't sweat it.
Have a safe trip home.

Offer still stands here in Maine. Whenever you make it up this way let me know and I'll ride with you and there will be a warm bed too. Like Blanca said, 10,000 miles is nothing to sneeze at.

GJ for making it so far!! it happens! offer still stands for the return if you need a place to stay!

Here is to New England riding in the Fall/Winter.

You need the right gear and hand warmers on the grips don't hurt either.

Traction issues are what take me off the road , not the cold.
