I'm a believer in frame sliders now. Ms. Wag went down on her gixxer (yes, she's fine, thank you for asking!) and the frame slider saved the bike from some major damage. Better yet, her leathers and helmet, full gear, saved Ms. Wag from some major damage. I'm even more of a believer in full gear.
