After removing the sump plug found this particle , first thought oh no,
But after cleaning the plug found a bit of the magnet missing, big relief

I ate the tip of a plug on my first Busa. It bounced around on the top of the piston but caused no other damage.

Here are the pics of the "damage" from the spark plug. Hardly nothing and it still ran like new.

As a tech at a multiline dealer, I can testify that all KTMs (and Husqvarnas) are like that. We're constantly buried in disassembled KTM engines.... horribly unreliable things.

Good question. Our KTM guy said that it's a combination of lightweight castings (hence the extreme noise that comes out of KTM engines) and the possibility that the engines just aren't properly cleaned out after machining work at the factory... he got so sick of rebuilding KTMs (and dealing with their schizophrenic electronics) that he up and quit not long ago and is now working outside of the field.

Only KTM knows for sure what the problem is, and they're not talking. Since they're the fastest growing brand in motorcycling at the moment, they'd be foolish to admit that their engineering is suspect.

I have read a lot about the plight of automotive techs and I know that a talented automotive technician can write their own ticket in say a manufacturing plant or installing medical equipment for example.

Ironically, I'm working as a motorcycle tech as I needed some time away from a career of aircraft maintenance. Everyone needs a break sometimes.

I’ve had 2 KTMs and won’t have another one.
They left the casting sand in the water jackets and it destroyed the water pump seals and shaft, mixing coolant and engine oil…. It only had 4000 miles on it.
Not a fan, I’ll stick with Japanese bikes.

Um yeah. I'll share a scare. Different category altogether.

I have sort of gone to the next level in a woman I'm dating. From dating and sleep overs overnights to our first vacation of 4 days together.

She wanted to make all the arrangements. Which I thought was sweet.

She made it clear she was going to be on me like a Hyena for 4 days. It made me laugh. At first. But she reconfirmed this in a manner of speaking a few more times. I realized I um might need to be prepared.

So the vacation started. We stayed in a private cottage on the water. It was pretty dang nice.

She didn't lie. It was good we were in our own space. She wasn't bashful.

So on the morning of day one after the first night, we are now comfortable enough to share bathroom space. As she was doing her girl face stuff I said I need to pee. She cleared a path to the bowl and waved me in.

So I'm about 30 seconds mid pee and out comes crimson pee. Like solid bright blood. I went WTF!!! She stopped in mid effort and saw it. Looked in the bowl and said OMG are you in pain?

So yes I was but not like pain pain, more like fighting for my life fending off the Hyena attack for almost a solid day and night non stop pain.

She is an Anesthesiologist and knows what's normal and what isn't. I didn't want to be overly an alarmist but quietly I was freaked the hell out. I said no it didn't hurt and was probably just a tear or something. But she is now watching me like a hawk and afraid of injuring me.

Later that day, it happened again. In full view of her now. She was literally not leaving my side since the first time. So she saw round two. Crimson red for about 35 seconds straight. It looked like a GSW now.

Her:OK I'm calling 911.

Me: No don't. It doesn't hurt.

Her: I don't give a crap that's a lot of blood coming from somewhere.

She started to get upset. Eyes tearing up. Tom your hurt, I've hurt you. She's starting to semi loss it. I assured her I wasn't in pain. It did not run red everytime but it did appear to be doing so after she went into Hyena mode.

So she was now no longer in a very sexy mood. And was afraid of every move I made.

So now she's calling personal contacts Urologist etc.

Well it could be any number of things they say.

He really needs to get it checked out.

So now the next embarrassment. I finally agree to an ER visit. She is of course in tow. It was then that she realized she had made a mistake. They all knew her at the hospital. It dawned on her questions were going to be asked .

So Uro arrives in ER. Tell us what happened.

Um well I'm bleeding during urinations. How many times? 3 times now. She said no 2. I said well there was a 3rd in the shower. She started to cry again.

So we finally narrowed it down to post rigorous coital efforts. She is now turning pale that she knows these people and I have been injured during sex with her. She could have crawled under the bed about then.

Ok well let's get some urine samples and pictures.

Pictures showed up kidney stones. So he said I probably just passed a kidney stone and it's all over now. My urine came back clear and no infection. Sent us home. Go back and forget about it. Do whatever you want.

Sidenote:. I have had kidney stones for 25 years. This did NOT feel like a kidney stone. But I kept my mouth shut.

Back to the cottage. And after a few rounds of clear urine she relaxed and wanted to return to Hyena mode again. I troopered through it. But I wasn't at my best. 2 hours after and we were dressing for a meal out and I had to pee.

Here we go again with crimson pee!!!!

She lost it! OMG it has to be sex with me, she said.

I'm not going back to the hospital and live through that embarrassment again.

So I made a follow up appt.

She has been calling like everyday wanting to know about my pee.....lol.

It's been clear.

Well go to your appt.

To which I have.

My PSA is my normal range. My test came back negative for cancer. All of the same kidney stones were still in the same spot.

So doc is going to do a biopsy of Kidney, Bladder and Prostate. And the best part

A Cystograph.

They run what amounts to a flexible steel accordion tube with a built in camera and other nifty tools that be inserted to do various functions, up through my plumbing to look for any lesions and whatever the hell else they want to hunt for.

And stick a big ass needle into the Kidney and Prostate to get tissue samples.

So yeah in the scheme of things, I'm having a chytty week this week. She is racked with guilt! Is practically moving in my house to check on me, watch me and treat me like I'm already gonna die because she wanted some vigorous loving.

I feel fine. No blood. But no way am I having sex for now. If we did and I bleed again, she'd be a goner. She's holding it together. But only because she can physically observe me and be with me in case I might need something. You'd think I have a week to live by her worry.

Doc says he doubts it will be cancerous as by the time blood is a component it's pretty obvious to diagnose.

But his words, "If this is caused from sex he will have a LOT more questions than answers."
