I did it. Just heat it in the oven for 5 minutes at 200° and pull the lens off, disassemble it, paint the main reflector, then reassemble. I painted the running light areas white also. Then reassemble same way. I need to upgrade my headlamp to HID, since LED tries to use the reflector.
The weight savings alone makes it so much better. I am 260 lbs, and the bike power wheelies in 3rd, rolling the throttle. It is barely manageable. I did the secondaries delete, but I dont think that did much, but the weight difference is actually noticeable. I'll get it on a scale sometime soon. Pretty sure I dropped almost 100 lbs.
Just another side shot for anyone that might want to do this conversion. You will need the entire subframe section from 07-08 K7 gsxr1000. I think she looks beautiful and I've already fooled a few people who thought my gsxr1000 looked thick in the front. Lol
