one guy i talk to hates the canada system because they wouldnt cover certain types of care for his wife. cant remember specifics, been about 3 years ago but it was a big deal.
youre more likely to die under socialized healthcare from things such as cancer vs our current system. its posted all over the net. men more likely to die from prostate cancer and women more likely to die from breast cancer.
not saying what we have now is the best thing since sliced bread but its better than what we are gonna have.
certainly there may be SOME truth to what you say....however, a lot of those numbers have serious fluff to them.. and you should be just as aware of that..
insurance and pharmacorp have serious amounts of money invested in shoving those types of statistics around...
and truth is, you friend in canada, in an american system, likely would have either
A) been charged so much for care they couldnt afford it
B) hit their limit maximum for coverage
C) been denyed as well for that care
however, your friend in canada, DOES get coverage for things like quality of life needs such as live in nurses etc.
things which most american private insurers flat refuse, and charge you out of pocket for...
no system is perfect... certainly not ours, and certainly not theirs...
which is better... that is obviously what much of the debate we are having is about...
