Its a 3 year gig and yes, it is about up. This time next year I will be on my way. I won't get my follow-on until this time next year but the OML is Stewart, Bragg, Hood.

I have been offered the chance to go get a phd and come back and teach again but thats another 9 years.

You'd be a fool not to take the PhD funding. Just do it.

SO, you gotta ask yourself, do u think you'll fly much as a MAJ? And plan on what you will do when the party is over. The PHD sure sounds like a special offer; gets you to at least 20 with an Doctorate no less an prob O6 along with it. Also time to have/make family. I like all ur options make the best of it good luck,

I was a Machinist for 30 years. Got to do work on Jeff and Ward Burton late model stock motors
Worked on Mark Martin Bush motors. Worked on and built a lot of drag motors (Loved that most of all)
Went into Industrial machining and learned how to run just about every machine out their at the time.
Bought a busa and learned just about everything about it
Pro, I loved my jobs
Con, I miss my jobs

Now with a bad back I just sit around and miss what use to be.
It's amazing how something so little can take away so much. Getting old just sucks

wow! impressive! sry to hear about ur back. I went thru 3 years of horrible back pain L5 and then for whatever reason the pain vanished.

chit, I can even do squats now. go figure? I truly call whatever happened a miracle cause I was one miserable fuk and entertained retiring at one time. I feel or shud I say I felt ur pain.
