Yet another tool? Cam chain tension adjuster locking tool?

The pic in the manual is fuzzy - is this tool necessary or is there a substitute available/easily fabricated?

I just can't tell what it does - I guess it will be obvious when I don't have it...

wow...another pointless tool in the service manual - imagine that...
very easy to re-install - no tool necessary.

If you are talking about what I think you are, you can use a small wire with a 90 degree bend on the tip to lock the tensioner in place.
