Worst dealer award

I read the post on the dealer whose mech did burnouts on his bike and thought what an ass for a dealer. I got one better although wouldnt keep my bike there for a second. Iwill make a long story short. I made an appt. to get my first service at the local Suzuki dealer,Honda/Suzuki world... ( not the one I bought my bike from) but the closest one to my house. Anyhow I show up for my appt at 9am and when i go to the service desk , they ask for my info, I am very polite , as I try to be on every occasion. The service kid, pretty nice guy, asks for my keys and as I get them out , a little bald guy comes from out in the back and looks at me and asks the service writer where my bike came from. I said it was mine , he says I didnt look familiar, and I stated that i had bought some parts a week earlier with a friend who brought me up there. He asked where i bought my bike and I told him MTR Racing , He literally sighed and gave me the dirtiest look. I asked if there was a problem and he says "yeah you didnt buy your bike from us, why are we fixing it" I told him that when i was looking for my bike they didnt have the one I wanted in stock so I bought it elsewhere. But I planned on using him for all my parts and service needs. Listen to this. THis is a quote, no bullshit... "you bought your bike from those idiots, take it back from those idiots". Now trying to keep a cool head I went to tell him that I would like to use his shop cuz its closer and reitterate the fact that the sales guy told me to try MTR when they didnt have the one I wanted to in stock. Next thing I know the keys come flying across the counter and the service manager says they arent going to service my bike there. Now I am spitting nails at this point. We go back and forth about how I have never been treated so poorly in my entire life and had someone not want my business, I get a " we got enough customers, we dont need mtr customers, so get your bike and take it to them" This is all happening in front of my kids and wife who followed me up there to pick me up while the bike was getting serviced. So now I hit the roof , and grab my registration out of the kids hands ( he was really innocent but had my paperwork) The service manager , who is not a little guy decides to flick the rest of my stuff including my owners manual at me. All the while the owner is standing there blabbering about not needing my money or any business from MTR. ( I dont know what the beef is but i guess I got in the middle) well my wife and daughter had gone to the bathroom and I started walking my way to the door but there was what looked like a hallway, (one door and you could see out the next) so I tell them you will never get a penny from me or anyone else I can talk to ever. Well this hallway turns out to be the owners office with an in an out door. the service mgr. tells the guy to escort me out of the building and the little bald bastard goes to grab my arm, First I say I still cant believe that you treat people this badly and then Tell him that if he touches me , he will be waking up on the floor. I walk thru the 2nd door and literally slam it behind me and I hear keys and other stuff falling off the back of the door. My wife is just coming out of the bathroom and asks what all the screaming is about, I told her what happened and she says your kidding, to which the service prick says get you and your f ing kids out of the store before we call someone to get you out... after a few more expletives, this time on my part, I go out side and start my bike and after spitting the rest of my tongue that i had to bite so hard in trying not to kill someone in there I drive home... I know alot of youguys arent from rhode island and wont be going to that dealership, but If your ever in the area, please dont go there and tell everyone you know not to go either.. there is more back and forth bantering but it doesnt change the story and would take forever to tell you verbatim everything that was said... Most of you have written me and told me how polite I am, and believe me , I really try not to ruffle any feathers. this was literally the worst experience of my life as far as retail goes.. someone who doesnt want your money and will literally kick you out of their store cuz of where you bought your bike... unfrickenbelievable...

that is horrible!
service in motorcycle dealer is terrible.
you always wait and wait and wait.
many of then don't know poop and they are really not good in treating customers.
they make more money in fixing a bike than in selling it.

I think you did a great job showing restraint, if it would have been me, I don't think I could have done as well as you....especially had someone in the shop touched me like they did you, that would have put his ass on the floor. Also, they should certainly be reported to Suzuki USA. Please call and make a complaint and let us know the outcome. My local shop is almost as bad to deal with, but I did buy my bike there so they have to service it....not that they will EVER get the chance.

End Rant....your story put the hairs on my arms at attention, I got pissed just reading your post !

From a dealer, you need to report this dealership to American Suzuki. Dealers have a responsibility of service no matter where you bought your bike. Dealers have to realize that customers are worth their weight in Gold. Without them we would not be in buisness.

Some members might remember I had something similar happen to me in January. Not nearly as aggressive as this scenario, but the premise was the same...I didn't buy the Busa from them, so they gave me a hard time and turned me away after accepting my request for an appt for service...anyway...

I did contact Suzuki America in CA and rec'd a call and letter from them apologizing for the service (or lack there of) that I encountered, said they'd opened a case up on this and that's been it...I never heard another word, and really didn't expect to...

The only satisfaction I did get was that I wrote up a long letter detailing all that transpired and carbon copied it to the manager/owner of the dealership...I'm sure they all had their laugh because they are essentially untouchable, but it's the best I could do to let Suzuki know what they'd done to a customer...

Good restraint, and an award to the azz for being so rude in front of your wife and kids...sounds like a real winner...

unfrickenbelievable...

I had some like that happen to me one time at Lake Tahoe. The resort lady was to busy to show me a $500 a night room before I would rent one. She told me to get lost if I wanted to see what the room looked like FIRST. She really set me off that day. But what you went through sounds even worse. Somehow you just gotta laugh at people that don't want your money and move on. Good thing you found out what they were like BEFORE they had your bike.

Had the same problem last x-mas with HH Gregg, and Appliance store. Seen an online advertisement for a 27 toshiba combo dvd/vcr I wanted for my daughter. Anyways, again to make a story short, I went to the local store cause I wanted to pay cash for it (GOD FORBID), and avoid shipping. After being told that HH Gregg was offering no such special, I directed the salesman to the online advertisement. The sales guy told me they did not have to honor online specials and that the local stores were not affiliated with the Online site. I'm like WTF and the sales guy and I are having a very heated arguement right there on the sales floor, during x-mas, it was busy. The whole thing led to the store manager coming out who after being told of the situation would not even look at the online add and told me HE DID NOT HAVE TO HONOR ANY SALE, EVEN THE ONE'S POSTED IN THE LOCAL PAPER. I was pissed, sure, I could of used a credit card and got the TV from online, but then I had to pay shipping and that almost equalled the sales discount. I wouldn't give in arguing how could they honestly expect me to believe that they and their online store were two seperate entities, to which I kept replying and even pointing out signs in the store that advertised the store web address. Anyways, I was escorted from the store by security, of course yelling and cursing the whole way, and told never to step foot back in that store. Well after that service I would never spend a dime in an HH Gregg regarless how good a deal they had. Anyways, came home, called the home office which got little from, then called the credit card company and canceled my $8,000 credit limit account with them. I actually got more apologies from the service rep in the credit department who actually has no ties to HH Gregg other than supplying credit than I did form anybody in HH Gregg themselves.

I'm usually not an arguementative type person, usually will just walk away, but this one really got me.

holy crap! that's unbelievable.. sorry your kids had to see and hear that.. what a bunch of jackasses..

No i'm not from rhode island but if i had some money to get there i would come over and kick his ass...

JFK... Bum deal. Not sure why you argued with the guy, he don't want your money leave. You should
definately call American Suzuki. Then if you want to screw with them, set up appointments for
services on various bikes. This will tie up his service area. Of course it also screws anyone who
is trying to get work done there.

VABusa... You should follow up with American Suzuki... they need to be pushed or they'll never look
into it.

mzrsq... Why do you think they always put "at participating locations" in those ads? Its so the
store can "legally" decline the price if they choose.

What Raider said, jfk. I'd call the BBB and I would also call the news station to follow me (covert-style) to witness this and plaster thst shid all over the news.

Fuggin little bald prick....I'd find out where he likes to go for a drink or to hang out...then I'd set up whole "meet the girlie that I didn't know had a boyfriend" scenario and have some serious ass kicking on tap.

Little jerk...

Man...I can only dream of someone pulling that poop with me! If I wasn't in Fl, I'd go back there with you, man!

I wish I had your patience. I might have held it together, but if he would have said that in front of my kids I would have told my wife and kids to leave, then there would have been a party. And yes, I would have wound up in jail.

It is amazing that shops like this exist. There are more peaceful ways of handling them, it's called word of mouth, bad press, etc. I hope I wouldn't go bullistic as I said, because I believe the way to really hurt someone is throught their pocket book. I guarantee you this shop would have an enormous amount of bad publicity, and all of it free from me.

I knew a guy in Topeka KS one time who had a bad experience with a furniture store there (this was while I was living there). He too was treated like crap. So he took out a self-made ad in the Topeka Capital Journal and told everyone in Topeka how he was treated. The place sued him for something like slander I think, but the judge threw it out and made the store compensate the guy for his trouble. Not sure what he got.

Lesson here is, keep it cool, hit them where it hurts, the money!

Postal.

(oh yeah, and don't go Postal)
