   This is what I told Spike (can't get used to calling my gentle, loving husband "Spike")... the bike just looks better, not so fru-fru-wussey-girl perfect.  

Kind of like the Velveteen Rabbit.

I am picturing this:

Bike zooms into parking lot,
crowd standing staring eyes wide,
bike and wife go down,
bike slides spinning across lot,
wife jumps up,
raises both fists in the air,
and yells to the crowd,
