Whatever floats your boat, as long as it doesn't interfere with your ability to clean the toilet, I'm good

hmm, yeah it won't interfere with my ability to do that, though it does somewhat impact my desire to do it. I have kids, so I have no issue with teaching them the finer points of cleaning around the house and then providing incentives (allowance) for them to actually do said cleaning

Greed of individuals and greed of government brought us here as nation and a world.
Parents, and too often parent, don't raise their children.
The tv, the babysitter, other kids their age, and now the internet raise our children(as a majority).
Morals and values, as well as respect for authority are few and far between.
These kids grew up, then they had kids, who are now having kids...younger and younger.
The population is exploding with adults who don't have a clue how to take of themselves, let alone a child.
Hence, the "entitlement" generation, give it to me because I want it and feel I deserve it.
"To heck with working hard and coming by things honestly" is too often the attitude. And the U.S. government sure isn't discouraging that either.
Our nation and world are in a bad way.

I love how jumping to conclusions leads to these lively discussions and accompanying banter.

Something to ponder for the folks that think not working for someone else and getting a paycheck is somehow easy or makes you less of a contributor. The skills mrsBW needed and honed keeping our home functioning properly for a decade+ prepared her to successfully own and manage her own restaurant now.

I don't think anyone is saying that being a stay at home wife/mom = less of a contributor. My argument lies in the simple fact that we should all be able to make that choice. Gone are the days where it's expected that women are barefoot & pregnant, in the kitchen...we've come a long way, and for good reason. Life is what you make it, and for far too long, a woman's role in that right was pretty limited. I can't see us, as a society, going back to that way of thinking. There's nothing wrong with those that can and want to stay home, but there's also nothing wrong with those that opt to work. Neither decision should make any woman feel bad, that was my main point...women are no longer viewed as "creatures to be at a man's feet"; most finally realized men aren't the center of the universe

Every man is a mommas boy at heart, if not, you wont find a wife. I appreciate my wifes work at home so much I haven't seen a paycheck in 28 years. I have noticed amongst the ladies I know as time goes on and I get older the ones that never married are less happy later in life than the ones that are married, even ones that had to marry twice to find the right dude for them.

Too late for me I suppose, but it could go full circle and the men will be "creatures to be at the girls feet", I could dig that. We will just need to shut up and not whine about it and everything will be cool again.
