What do you do to clean your head?

Hey guys,

I've got the head off my 08 busa, and before I put new valves in I wanted to clean the head off. The deposits on the intake side were easy to take off using carb cleaner, but I have some deposits in between the exhaust valves that seem to be really hard.

I'm putting new valves in so I'm not worried about the stock ones. Am I being too anal and should just put the new valves in? Or should I have it clean like new? If so, what do you guys use to clean it. I don't have access to a machine shop for glass beading or anything.

i would have it acid dipped myself but if not use a pick set and gently get the carbon off.

Update to this, I ended up using sea foam and a brass brush. Worked like a charm with a little elbow grease!!

Axe shampoo for my hair, Axe snake peel for my face and neck
