Wentworth is sort of famous is local riding circles as it used to be a dirt pass up and over the mountain to get to the Ice House recreation areas. Spittin' distance of Lake Tahoe.

About 6-7 years ago, CalTrans showed up and re-graded and re-engineered the road paving for the first time up and over the 6500 fit Hartless Mountain. They paved La Porte Rd (outside Chico) up and over the Sierra a short time later. It's within day-trip riding distance of Sacramento, it's a Sac-town ride.

At the summit





Another very famous ride, Mosquito Ridge is just to the north on the next ridgeline. The two roads are connected via Eleven Pines Rd with Hell Hole Reservoir in the middle.
