I've been in the south....so hot in the summer that you melt, and every thing in the south wants to sting, bite, or eat you....(Florida and south Texas anyways)

Between fire ants, killer bees, poisonous snakes, spiders, alligators, pythons and all the other nasties......I'll take a cold winter any day....

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
You might want to check the places you frequent. I am mostly a city person, but when I go to the country I make sure I have all the protections regardless of the location.

I must be frequenting the wrong places......I know I did in the past in my former profession......

I love a cold, crisp winter day after a fresh snowfall especially when I'm in the bush on snow shoes......it's uber quiet and peaceful.....

There's a spot I go where I can overlook an open part of the river where a beaver can be seen doing his work.....I can sit there for hours watching him....

Just got a text from my wife to say she’s in Dubai and boarding a flight to Vienna. Off with her daughter to spend Xmas in Vienna, Prague, Florence and Barcelona.

She’s always wanted a Winter Xmas in Europe ( She’s Australian).

Cold weather and long haul flights are not for me.

When she gets home we will book a trip together. I really like Cambodia and Thailand and I’m happy to return to either.

I’m looking forward to a warm and quiet Xmas this year.

10am, 26 C / 79 F dry and sunny here.

Whew.......she's cold out there today.....I just took the wife's Edge to go fuel it and there's a wicked wind blowing......it seemed to channel right down the fuel pumps...good thing I was kitted out for it....some lady was there fueling wearing a light little jacket, no hat or gloves....she looked frozen after a few minutes.....good on her.....because it ain't summer out there......

Hot !

I rode for several hours today.
Sadly, it was on the lawn mower and not a bike.
Finally getting it back under control after the rain we had. Had to mow everything twice as I use a mulched not a catcher and the cuttings were too thick to leave.

I've done my Xmas gift shopping, a bone for the dog and a lettuce for the hens, and I was about to put a lock and chain on the front gate so I'd have a nice peaceful day tomorrow, then I got a reminder that there's a Xmas Day 5k (3.1 mile) timed Park Run on in the next town at 7am...... Mmmmmm... undecided on that one. The dog enjoys them though.

It snowed it's hole off yesterday....at least I have half my day planned out for me today.......shoveling or maybe snow blowing......depending on the weight of the snow....

At least the snowmobile guys won't be so angry looking now as they will be able to get out on their sleds....

Yeah, a couple of nasty ones down South. Not much up here in Qld as we had a heap of rain a few weeks back More rain coming in which most folk won’t mind, less fire risk, paddocks will be green, tanks and dams will be full.

Bush fires are quite a controversial issue here, a lot of councils and tree hugging greenies push for strict legislation to stop more fire breaks, controlled burns and clearing. A while back we saw heaps of houses destroyed, the sole house amongst them that was saved was the guy who got a huge fine for clearing trees around his house. I’m on the edge of a high risk area, but fortunately they start to back burn outside my place to protect the local town. I try and keep a wide clear area around my house (see pics above) and 141,000 ltrs in tanks.

Our western provinces get hit hard from wild fires as well.....

So much so that even though we are over 3500kms away, we get smoke indexes here....

Another warm one here.

I went to do my 5k / 3.1 mile timed run with the local group. Got about 2/3rd of the way and started to struggle, more importantly my dog wasn’t doing great, so we backed off and cruised the last bit. Slow time but for the best.

Last time I looked it was 36.5 degrees C here. (97.7 F)

Still cold here, and not supposed to be much above freezing during the daytime for at least the next week.
Everything is still frozen, and will probably thaw, soak the roads, and make for alot of black ice tomorrow morning.
This is looking over at my neighbors house, and there is a small mountain about a quarter mile behind it, under all the fog.
