I replaced my Busa with a GSXR1000 to reduce bike weight.
Yes, over 100lbs lighter, more peak hp and handles and brakes far better.....

The only downside is they get blown around more on the highway and are a little more cramped....

The problem with chasing weight and hp is there is always someone else out there doing the same thing, it gets like trying to stay on top of the computer tech wave......before you get the most powerful home computer home, the next most powerful one is heading to the market....

This is true...but funny how the Gsxr1000 has been basically the same bike since 2017, and piped and tuned...it still smacks around everything else.
I've ridden with the Ducati Panigale V4, and was less than impressed, and we remember how Ari and Zach put the beat down on it with an '05 Gsxr1000, which as awesome a bike as that still is...can't touch the current gen Gsxr.
Even the BMW"s, and none of the other Japanese bikes can beat it, close, sure, and not talking riders, but bike vs bike.
I've watched my friend, who is 260+lbs let a small rider on the latest zx10, also piped and tuned, get the jump every time in roll races, various gears and speeds, and either the Gsxr just walks off, or he lets him go then runs him down, the zx10 stays a few bike lengths back at top speed.
The Gsxr is incredible, and lots of people complain that it needs updated.
Well, with all the emission restrictions, it's amazing that we still get what it delivers...I can only imagine what's possible if Suzuki had less limitations to work with, but for what it is, it has to be one of the highest performing stock motorcycles ever produced.
I dare say that 'back in my day' lmao, I could ride my Gen2 Busa, and those generation 1k's to their street limits, or very close to it, this current gen Gsxr, not a chance, and not only am I older and slower...but it is just next level.

Yeah, he really does!
The drilled brake lever is an interesting idea, as I would think that winds around 200mph could apply light brake pressure and drag.
I wonder if the low profile off-road wrap around style hand guards would improve aerodynamics at high speeds, or make any difference?(also keeping the wind off the brake lever)
I don't need them, but for top speed runs...

The GSXR has always been potent, even the old '85 I was racing, it gave fits to the other brands which on paper should have been very dominate over it.....

My '02 used to kick ass.......it would have taken a very good bike to get by it in those days........and once you get done your '03, it will still be a potent bike....

The last GSXR I rode was an '18 at a Suzuki "ride" day at the track......it was a really good bike.

My '02 used to kick ass.......it would have taken a very good bike to get by it in those days........and once you get done your '03, it will still be a potent bike....

Yeah, my '03 will be roughly 160whp/80lb' trq, which makes for a nice high 9 second, and very fast bike...but when you put it next to something that is capable of mid 7's with only bolt-on's...the difference is staggering.
The '17-'25 Gsxr1k is also the absolute worst and slowest slug of a 1000 that I ever rode...stock...but with a pipe and tune to unleash what was already there, oh my gosh...I still can't belive what it will do.

I think if I go with a full M4 and ecu flash dyno-tune, and put the 'sucker mod' back on(crankcase vent routed to pair plates in valve cover, which is 4 and even 6whp) I can push this engine close to 170whp and 82, 83trq...make it look fancier on paper, lol
