Traded my busa today

They are nice looking, and way lacking the power to anyone after riding a Busa. However, on a track those bikes can make an average rider go fast. A buddy of ours has one, fairly new rider, learned on his new R6 actually. Went to the track and he was tearing it up.

i cant believe that samuri said he coulndt walk away from a 600.i mean i know the busa isnt that fast compared to the new bikes but dam.

I have an 06 R6 and it is a sexy lookin machine. But it is not as smooth as the bigger bikes like the cbr1000rr or the busa. Lot of jerky abrupt power delivery until you rev it up into the higher rpms, then its smooth like butter. It is very flickable, you can man handle that thing and it sticks. You can twist the throttle hard and fast and it will move without the front end coming up. Its a great bike and after riding the liter bikes I now know what people are talking about when they say it has no bottom end. When I first got it I thought it had plenty but now after riding around on a liter bike its no comparison.

Its a great bike but like the guy said up there I think its more for beginners or younger people like in the teens or early twenties. My friends son wants to buy it from me so bad. When he and his buddies come over to look at our bikes they just want that 600 R6. They know the other machines are bad azz but the R6 is the one they all want.

I think he will be doing odd jobs and mowing my lawn to butter me up to sell it to him. Good kid, I just don't want him doing stupid stuff on it.

I'm thinking about trading my F4 in on a new R6. I love the seating position; it actually fits my 6'3" frame. And I really want a nice, flickable, modern 600 for the canyons.

say what you will . i will put my bike and ability against anyone on the dragon and straight line and hang with most if not beat most .. Evidently you havent run with a new 600 with a pipe power commander and experianced rider ,.Think about it like this a A 600 is 100 pounds less mass then a busa and only 40hp less .So if you do the math that is not that much differance .His dyno was 120 at the rear wheel .Mine is almost 159 ..I did not say he beat me but on rollons i didnt eat his lunch and blow his doors off . On a dead stop take off I would eat his lunch .but once you gett the 600 in powerband mode it will haul arse . If anyone on this board woul.d like to see it in real life it can be set up we both go to the dragon about 6 times a year ..
  And just for other info I am 100% busa all the way but I also am honest enough to admit that these new bikes which are not 8 year old technology are awesome . Ypu can take an off the floor GSXR 1000 or Yamaha 1000 and eat a busa lunch all day long seen it done it ..
      Be a disbeliever if you must but go jump on a few before you are ,and most people on this board who know me will attest that i have no reason to lie and know that i am straight forward ..And any who have tried to follow me on the dragon know i can ride .
       Does a R6 have as much low end grunt as a busa no way but get errr revved and see what happens ..

i agree the new 1000's are nuts,but a 600 come on we ride with a few here and when we are on the highway and we open up i fly right past them.everyone does,even the 1000's dont really walk away and if i get the jump i can keep them back a bike or so.

Question Is your bike stock ?? A modded busa is a different animal . What 6 do you ride with I am talking about the new 06 R6 not any other 6oo I have no idea about them All i know is what I rode ..as far as 1000 goes stock for srock a new 1000 gsxr puts out as much HP as a stock busa with less weight = axx handed to you .. We can sit here and argue this point all day . All im saying is if you take a Busa with a modded r6 you will beat him no doubt but you will not kill him on roll ons from the start there is no comparo busa is badder ..
You need to go and ride an 06 r6 before you even think about putting one down . As I have said before I am all Busa love my Bike but BUT when it comes to new stuff they are getting faster and lighter .
Let me ask you this if you was at the Dragon would you make a bet that says an equal Rider on a stock Busa can beat an equal rider on a new 06 r6 ??

Take a new 1000 gsxr and a busa yours and theres you both start at a stand still ..let me know what happens..There might not blow your doors off but if there a good enough rider you will be looking at his arse..


Curious why would a little 600 beat the busa on the dragon its so slow you should be able to blow his doors off .Could be the busa is a little heavy ?? Maybe it just don't turn in that good ..

What you seem to miss about this whole posts is the fact that when 600 first started coming out they was running 83 hp now this year they are running 115 to 120 And weighs only 423 lbs the busa is still running 156hp at 550lbs ..Ask yourself how much hp it takes to move a pound . 120 into 423 = 3.525 156 into 550 =3.525. Hey there the same funny huh its only a 600 but it is moving a pound with the same amount of power . 3.525 hp per pound ..
in other words if they don't hurry up with an updated Busa making more power and less weight at the rate 600's are going there gonna be faster off the showroom floor before to many more years ..And its starting to piss me off.......COME ON 08 More power less filling...

I cant make an educated response right now but my brother is buying his R1 in about 3 weeks just in time for spring to really hit. Then Ill let you know what I really think. Ive read all the articles about the R1 and seen plenty they are pretty but Ill take the lines of my busa any day of the week. We're taking about a 4k mine road trip this summer and my guess is that his back is killing him by the end of the first day. But Ill give a better comparison in a few weeks.
