Any good sport tire will work fine for your first several track days. I used BT-016s with great results, Q2s will work quite well too.
Pretty amazing how well modern tires grip.

Q2's are a great tire. If you need more tire than that your first time out your are either the next American MotoGP champ in the making or your doing something wrong.

Again like the others posted.... Q2s hold up well! Just set your tire pressures to 30/30 or 32/32 cold and have your suspension sag setup and you should be good to go for starters. Bt016s are good too.... And Bt002s! Bt003s now replace the Bt002s. The pilot pures IMO I wouldnt run.... Feel was lacking and they squirmed a lot!

Q2 will give you all you can handle, and at about $210 a set you can't beat the price!

I'll never use anything but the Michelin Power One's. I'm pretty sure they've saved my butt a few times.
