Hello everyone! This is mrs. busaboy. Just read all of your comments....Thank you so much for all your input and advice. mr.busaboy and I are taking it all in stride and trying to survive my moodiness. he will be happy when the warm weather breaks so he can get out of the house and get on his bike. biggrin.gif and terrorize the roads a bit. I am only sad that I can not go with him at all this year sad.gif I am still sticking firlmly to not wanting to know what the sex is but I did lose at cards so if he pouts too much then we will find out(after all that is how he got the Busa tounge.gif )Anyway thanks again.....Jade(aka mrs busaboy) blush.gif

You're welcome Jade...I'm actually heading there next week! I can't wait...I miss the Rockies...

If you'd like, I can stop by and beat your husband about the head and neck to knock some sense in to him! tounge.gif Or, just smack him around a bit and get him in line! You stay put, keep your feet up and get a bell so he can start waiting on you hand and foot! biggrin.gif

we found out with both of our boys and should be finding out for the next one this coming Thurs. After the first one it definately helps to know what you are gonna have incase you need extra rooms or if you have to go buy all new sets of clothes and toys and all that stuff. Some of it is not gender specific, but the stuff that is usually costs a bit more for some reason. Find out and then you have more time to get ready for it

Take a tip from the father of 4.

Go for the surprise. Paint the room pale yellow, and get outfits that are non gender specific. The kid won't care what it's wearing for at least 10 years.

Another tip: pick out a boy name and a girl name and keep them to yourselves until the child is born. That way you don't go through the scenario of telling someone the kid's name and getting a negative reaction. See, people think they can get you to change your mind, after you've considered all the possibilities, by saying really stupid stuff like, "You're going to name the baby Fred? I knew a Fred once and he was a real rockhead, you should name it something else". People will form an opinion about an unborn child, based on what the parents intend to name it. I've seen it happen.

Instead, you hand them the kid and say "This is Fred." They go all gooey and say, "What a cute name - he looks like a Fred".

Let it be the surprise blessing that it is supposed to be. It doesn't matter what the sex is as long as the baby is health.

Congratulations!

The birth of your child is the most important phase of your life IMO. It is such an incredible miracle!
We did not want to know. We spent the whole night (while my wife was in labor) finalizing names..had one picked for each sex...
Wether it is a boy or a girl doesn't matter, like everyone has said, the only thing that counts is that the birth goes good, healthy baby, healthy mom.

I can tell you this, don't miss a second. Be there the whole time. Your better half needs your support during this entire process. We, as guys, have the easy (fun!) job....your wonderful wife gets to handle the rest. Thank God you are a man! (I think I did about 20 times that night)

Be there for her every minute, hold her hand..tell her she is doing great....SUPPORT her. Just blows me away how some husbands can just let thier wives go thru this experience alone.:(

It is the most incredible miracle you will ever witness. Be there. You'll never forget it!

Congrats on your little one to come. Childern are Gods greatest gift.:)

Just thought I'd add one thing...

You will think, as you hold your precious little one in your arms, that it couldn't possibly get any better...

it does.

As I sit here and type, our "little" one, now 14, is sitting behind me playing a beautiful song on the piano....she is turning into the coolest kid ever. I pinch myself daily, just to make sure it is real. As time goes on, you get to see that tiny one turn into a person. With thier own opinions, thier own personality...just too cool.

Here's to the two of you beerchug.gif The best of luck as you embark on lifes most important journey!

I'm just curious 'cause I don't have kids and never will. Are parents ever disappointed when they get one but wanted the other? I doubt anyone would ever say so, especially to a spouse and more especially to the kid but deep down inside, do people ever feel a disappointment that it's going to be a girl and not a boy or vice-versa?

One day, you'll be able to choose the gender of your child anyway.

my first child there was NO MISTAKE that it was a girl so everyone bought girl stuff for the shower and it was great knowing ahead of time to be ready! The second child didnt want to reveal to us 100% what SHE was so we didnt know and had to go with all of the NEUTRAL gifts and of course it was a girl! The last kid, there was NO MISTAKE that he was a boy! I wouldnt change my mind ever about wanting to know what the gender is! It helps you to be prepaired! Of course there are always those stories of people who bought a LOAD of girls clothes and things and had a boy or vice versa! tounge.gif
