i saw my friend (no longer my friend) go down last year while the he was attemting to ride at wheelie at 100+mph speeds, he slid into tthe grass and whent 30-40 feet airborn landing on his head with 0 gear wwearing a wife beater t-shirt no helmet gloves or anything...broke 2 vertebra and shattered his elbow and wrist and when we got to him he wasnt breathing at all, a passerby who was a nurse helped us save his life...now that he is all healed up all he talks about is getting back out and doiing wheelies again...that is why i no longer talk to him...his name is martin his recovery pictures are in my photo's on here

There are far too many incidents of this kind of riding on the highways but, did anybody notice the Mustang cutting across two lanes of traffic to get back on the highway? This was in the field shot of the dude holding the mic and talking about the dangers of motorcycle riding....where the freak is the commentary on this kind of bozo activity? :poke: ???

Geez, Texas has all sorts of tracks to get your speed fix no need to do it on the highways.

What would a trackday look like if every ride went to the track to have fun?

Considering you have to play by the rules or get kicked out I don't think it would be to bad. I think it would also get more people into racing once they realized how much fun it is. That would be a very good thing as the racing numbers have been down.

Im not condoning this behavior at all on the street but I do have friends that stunt and go to trackdays with me. But their main argument is that there really is nowhere for them to do what they love to do. Parking lots are not big enough for a group to play in and a track would most certainly be over crowded due to the number of guys that would like to play at the track (But the cost is what keeps most away.). Again I dont believe that putting others lives at risk on public streets is right but I do understand their side of it. Im sure im going to get attacked for my view because people will misconstrue ( I think thats how you spell that word) but its kinda hard for me to explain this in just a few words so that it doesnt come off as Im just some azzhat

I still believe in Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. You have to do what you love where you can do it. But still do it so that you are the only one at risk.

yesterday on us75 just south of 635 in dallas @ 4pm some azzhat on a red & white r6 was doing short wheelies in traffic. he'd slow up traffic to make a hole & pop it up. wearing shorts & tennis shoes to top it off. crap like that is why so many people hate us. never a cop when you need one. they weren't even good wheelies.

I don't want to watch that video - it'll just irritate me. But honestly, these a$$hat riders are a tiny fraction of the total riders in the DFW Metroplex.

Most riders use good judgement (except for the Harley posers who don't wear helmets). Most wrecks here are due to cars not paying attention and not seeing the bikes.

Dallas has two types of riders.

The squid/stunnta crowd and the rest of us who hate them. The problem is the stunters are all on sports bikes which the general public then identifies with the rest of us sports bikers.

We need to speak up at public gatherings and chastise the rider next to us who is bragging about the speeding or stunting he did en route to the get together. Saying something might save his/her life or the life of some other driver. Bike night should not be synonymous with stupidity. Use your voice folks.

Always wear that gear

+1

safe riding with that gear increases your chances of survival on the streets. But lets face it driving the posted speed limit isn't safe at least down in Miami every car out on the highway here is doing at least 8-10 over the limit.
