Friday 6pm, while joking around with wife, I said something that typically drives her bonkers, and is currently on the short "don't ever say that to me" list.
Wife begins to chase me around the house as I run screaming like a girl in fear of her tiny little punches, Oz assumes play time is "on" and proceeds to jump on wife who then falls hitting table in kitchen with her head.
Result: Trip to Immediate Care for 3 butterfly stitches to head. Cost $178.00
Friday 9pm, while Debbie is running downstairs for the phone in anticipation of her "boyfriend" calling, she begins to argue with Tori, who then proceeds to chase Debbie around the house for a fury of "tiny little punching. Oz assumes play time is "on" again and chases both of them up the stairs. After a few minutes of barking, I call them from the living room to instruct "stop teasing the dog".
Unable to hear my expletives about the current behavior, both daughters proceed to run downstairs, at which point Oz pursues, tripping Debbie and Tori.
Result: Twisted Ankle (Debbie), ok put ice on and elevate will be ok by morning, go to bed.
Unexpected Result: 9 am Saturday Morning holy crap, it looks the size of a Smithfield ham! Back to immediate care for X rays, soft cast. Cost $245.00. People at immediate care starting to look at me funny"¦
Saturday 9pm, Sabrina's B-Day Party underway everyone in the basement bar having a good time. Sabrina's looking lovely in a Black strapless dress (19 years old this date). While enjoying the general atmosphere people start dancing and drinking. At some point Oz comes into the bar and sees Sabrina dancing. After several attempts to get Sabrina's attention for some much desired affection that he seeks, Oz decides to "not so gently" pull on the bottom back of Sabrina's dress to get her attention, we then found out the dress was loose fitting"¦at Sabrina's expense. The "startling revelations" were compounded by the multitude of pictures being taken at that instant, by several guests capturing pictures of the party for posterity.
Result: Niece in crowded basement with 30 guests, dress down on the floor around her ankles lots of photographed evidence.
0130am. Half the party crowd across the street playing beer pong. Sabrina, while reaching to blow the ball from the cup receives an accidental backhand from her partner to the face.
Result: Busted upper lip, get some ice she'll be ok. If it needs stitches I'm not taking her, immediate care already thinks I abuse my family.
0300 Sabrina brought across the street from rousing game of beer pong. Heavily intoxicated she begins to look sick to me and I advise Rhonda, " I think she's gonna hurl honey, you might want to get a pony tail holder" ok she says, watch her I'll be right back. While Rhonda readies for the eminent explosion, Sabrina advises " tio, I fell like s$#@, I gotta puke". I escort Sabrina into the half bath and just as were entering the bathroom she hurls herself towards the porcelain bowl"¦striking her forehead against it on the way down"¦
Result: Egg shaped contusion on forehead. Nothing worse than having to wake up a drunk all night to ensure they don't have a concussion, and you know where I stand on the immediate care situation.
Sunday Brunch! Good food, everyone's back at the house watching football, eating sleeping off the party and recovering from the multitude of bruises, cuts and general abrasions. While I'm sitting on the deck I hear Oz & Ming playing in the yard and I think boy what a nice day, I'm going to get my keys and jump on the Harley for a while. While exiting the house towards my bike 20 minutes later Sabrina states " tio, why does Ming have paint on her ear?" to which I queried, "what paint?", "I don't know something gooey and red". Oh oh, honey call the vet Ming's ear is hanging off!
Result: Trip to immediate VET care for surgery to the ear, cost $440.00.
When we arrived at the vet the doctor asked, did she get into a fight with another dog? To which we replied, no. "Well do you HAVE another dog? "Ëœcause this sure looks like a dog did this to her ear.. "well yeah we have another dog but I don't think he would have done it since they don't fight". The Doctor then proceeds to inform us that she will have to keep Ming for 2 hours for surgery, and we should be able to pick her up at 8pm, they may have to keep her overnight. "Honey I've been waiting for the Dexter Premiere on Showtime for 11 months now and it starts at 9, so I'm not leaving Ming there overnight were going to get her at 8 one way or the other". When we return to get Ming at 8 the Doctor askes another slew of questions about the dog injury, to which we did not have answers, what do I look like Michael Vick? What am I being accused of dog fighting???!!! This is ridiculious honey pay the bill and let's go. Finally, I'm back home, it's 850, only 10 minutes left till the season 2 premiere ahh finally, life is good again"¦Wow the season premiere is really good, only 925 and all kinds of good stuff is going on.."honey, what's Oz barking at upstairs? Go see if anybody's there". "honey, come here, Harford County Sheriff's department is at our door and they want to talk to us about our dogs, they received a report of alleged dog fighting from the emergency vet center"¦.great"¦.
