I am letting this one fall off the list. Over a year has passed and nothing has happened. This was supposed to be a 'done deal' last summer. I guess just think twice before taking passengers and cargo on 99/2000s.

If it doesn't crack unless a load is placed on it like a passenger, it wouldn't be an issue for me. I'd love to have an aluminum subframe. That must be about 5 lbs.

DME make a Gen 2 standard bodywork fitting aluminum subframe . Over 3kg saved compared to stock . Personally wouldn't of changed over if I wanted to carry a pillion , but seems to be coping with my fat ass okay . Real nice bit of kit , recommend it .

It's not exactly cheap but at $100/lb, that is a good deal. Smaller lightweight replacement parts are probably closer to $200/lb.
