Just wanted to provide a pic of the 16 tooth sprocket I had on the "STUNGUN"...It actually had started to eat this sprocket when I added the ext. and the boost completed the job...

Hey whose the maker of the sprocket? And was the damaged caused by too much hp?

A bad chain??? or what ...give us more details cause i have a 16 tooth on mine

I believe I got the sprocket from AFAM...Can't remember...I had replaced front sprocket and chain when I put the bolt ons on...I believe that the 6" ext along with the 16/42 gearing had created such torque that that is what led to the sprocket damage...Mayb some of the guys that study this sort of stuff can give a more detail explanation...

Daaaaaamn man. I have never seen a sprocket damaged like that before. Not an expert on the subject by any means, but I really don't think that should have happened. Only other suggestion I have is maybe your chain alignment was off.

I'll place my bet on the chain being too loose...causing it to seat improperly riding a little high on the teeth...

That would be my guess as well.... But then if there are no broken tooth parts in the sproket cover it could be actual wear damage caused be a defective sprocket, weak metal, etc, etc. I've never seen anything like it personally

I've had that happen on alot of my dirtbikes....mainly from excessive usage....and with the power of a boosted busa I'm sure that time frame shrinks considerably

The chain was properly fitted on install...Of course it did loosen from some riding but I kept a close watch on the new chain and anticipated the stretch...I kept it adjusted...Ninja Eater had posted that his bike had a habit of eating sprockets before he found the right one...

Dang it really sucks whatever the cause ... Any risk of the sprocket breaking and damaging other parts of the bike?

I guess that it could have broken the cover and caused the chain to come off and that could have led to some serious damage or even locked the rear end up...

Make sure it was a Chrom Molly sprocket if it was AFAM. I went through 3 Sproket Specialists until I finally went with a Chrom Molly. Als very very importnat to make sure the Cush drives in the rear wheel are good. Also do not use sight on the lines for making the wheel even. Most of which I am sure you have been doing but worth the caution. I had 4 turbo riders tell me that the front sprockets should not go. BULL poop until you get a strong one. If those sprockets are not heat treat right they go fast.
