The ride to Maggie Valley is a nice ride. The venue for that rally is just a small park in the middle of town. Not much of a party there, but the surounding area is nice ride!

There is a really cool ice cream shop in Cherokee, not a bad short trip if you go the long way... in the plaza with the visitors center.
