Is it safe? I don't know, but as it's to how well it works?

According to it's MSDS is made from;
40 to 60% pale oil, a light colored mineral oil
25 to 35% naphtha ie. white gas or camp fuel
10 to 20% IPA otherwise known as Isopropyl Alcohol or Rubbing Alcohol.

So I'm not too sure what dumping rubbing alcohol, camp fuel and light mineral oil into your motor is supposed to do?

But if you were cheap you could mix up your own seafoam real easy.

Take some of this

add a dash of this

and a bit o' this

and voila!
your very own seafoam

Sounds like snake oil to me....

Just used some in my Camaro and have noticed a difference. Used some in "full" tank of gas, in oil(prior to oil change), And in the throttle body while car was running.

Pouring into the Intake is where you will get the smoke effect. Pour it in "slowly". turn off engine. Let it sit for few mins. then start her up. Basically the smoke is from the residue from top of pistons and the unburnt seafoam.

It's not a miracle cure. It's more like a Flush/cleaning.

Walmart and such sells it also.

there are a number of benefits to the compounds..

Alcohol: lifts excess moisture up and out of tank.. this is a bigger issue in some areas more than others..

The oils and naptha work as solvents to dissolve and carry away varnishes that form and the oil leaves a protective coating of sorts..

pretty standard ingredients.. what I do not see is any detergent.. Techron and a few of the others have amounts of dispersants and surfactants..

We used to use a mixture of ATF (Dexron due to high detergent), alcohol and water fed via controlled vacuum leak right into the motor while running over about a half hour... works wonders (cars mind you) but did not do squat for the injectors..

I would not mess with Seafoam. The Chevron Techron is made to clean the system. It works very well.
