Reno Trip in Jan 08

Company is sending me to Reno in January.

Any thoughts on sight seeing? I know I'm about 3.5 hours out of San Fran. Would really love to rent a bike and hit the roads before heading back. I'll have 3 days to play! Never been to Cali or Reno. Thanks.

January is really not our best month, to say the least. Reno is high desert (about 5000') and is VERY cold at night. Here in California its our rainy season and any riding to be done is very hit and miss. Getting from there to here over the Sierra, on 2 wheels, would be extraordinarily tricky.
On the other hand, the Bay Area can be quite pleasant in the winter and if you've never been there.....well, ya just got to go see it

OH Geez-- gang --- January is not a good month for a bike ride.. maybe your gonna be in a car.. then if not snowing bigtime--- Virginia City is a must see and close to those other places mentioned Hehe..
Lake tahoe-- stateline casino's-- Go to the VEX Nightclub-- opens at 10pm or check out the Cabo Wabo Cantina at Harveys....Thurs thru Sun call the slot shop 0400 am till 2pm and meet the infamous PaceMaster hehe at Harvey's....

I wasn't sure the town was open during winter. A trip to the Bucket-of-Blood saloon for a hot buttered rum is in order.
