I just changed my oil, 2006, drained overnight, put 4 qts. and it's reading full.
I started it up and ran it up to temp and now it's just barely under the full mark? It says 4.7 qts to refill?

Owners manual sez 3.7 quarts if you change filter.
One of the things you hafta watch out for is the engine holds a LOT of oil above the sump or oil pan and it takes a good while to drain down. Do NOT adjust oil levels until the bike has cooled and you've allowed ample time for the oil to drain down..!! If you put 4 qts. in you should be good to go.

Should I just loosen the plug bolt, and let a little out then add some till it's just under the fill line ? Or is 4 qt.s okay ?

you can drain a little out that way, the little extra won't hurt it.

The 4 quarts won't hurt it a bit. Just leave it alone and ride it..!!
