Question for 2009 white busa owners....

Have any of you ever thought about changing the color of the side fairings, from the stock silver, to black? That's what I am thinking about doing and wondering if any of you guys have done this yet?

I have .
i experimented with 'paint' program and blacked out all that is grey on the bike.
Leaving all the white so it would be just black and white.
It did not really look right.

What I have been thinkin about doing was to have ghost checkers painted into the silver areas on the sides ?
What do you think about that ?

Wow, you're right, it looks much different than what I thought! Perhaps an all white would look better... I'm just not a big fan of the silver

Silver just needs some really light professionally done ghost checkers in it.
Just visible enough but not too much is what I'm thinking about.

Great color too bad they went with blue. I like the ghost checker idea.

I thought about it, both the black & the blue options, but decided that if I changed the silver paint then I would then be spending more time & money powder coating / painting all the other silver bits & pieces on the bike. So instead I have just gone down the "blue" path with the bar ends, levers, etc.

I like the ghost checker idea too. If you decide to do this, I would spend a great deal of time researching the painters. You want someone that is very skilled at doing ghost style paint jobs. I have seen a lot of paint jobs where the ghost part stands out pretty badly.

If I do ghost checkers the panels will go to Tn to a friend who paints dragsters .
He does 10k paint jobs in a barn behind his house .
From the road you could not believe the quality that comes from there .
