Pocketbike fatality

California Pocket bike law:

Prohibits the operation of a mini-motorcycle, also known as a pocket bike, on a sidewalk, roadway, or any other part of a highway; on a bikeway, bicycle path or trail, equestrian trail, hiking or recreational trail; or on public lands open to off-highway motor vehicle use. It allows law enforcement to impound a pocket bike that is being illegally operated. The law also requires a manufacturer to affix a sticker to the pocket bike that provides written disclosure to the consumer regarding prohibitive operation and that a violation of the law may result in seizure of that vehicle.

Nuff said.
Read the article before you try to criticize. This happened in Florida. Obviously you didn't even read my posting... Yes, it was long.

I think your posting just proved my point that some riders are more out to criticize and judge other riders than support each other. You sound like one of those cagers that just hate bikers. Instead of hearing you say that it's tragic or it sucks, or whatever else, your posting just came across judgemental of those poor kids. What kind of rider ARE YOU??

Are you forgetting that the pick-up was ILLEGALLY PARK?

Did you even read my second post? So I take it you ride where and how you want without regard for anyones safety, and you don't observe laws or guidelines set forth to obtain a motorcycle license?

Are you forgetting that you don't know why the truck was there, or if it even was parked illegally? Go read my second post.. it's at the bottom of page one.

I'm sure that newmill was just using the California Pocket Bike law as reference. I'm sure there are a lot of states that have the same type of law regarding these bikes.

Simply pointing out the current law here in Cali puts those kids at fault not the pickup, who we really know nothing about. Damn shame too. It was a preventable death(s). Some gear and guidance was all that was needed. Laws/regulations are never surrogates for good parents.
And BTW: If there was any rush to judgement here.......
