Well went by the local dealer and made a deal and placed a deposit on a 08' Blue busa. Salesman said it should be here in late Sept or Early Oct!!!!!!!! Cant wait!!!!!!!!!

Why people would make deposit on something available to everybody?

Just like those 1098 Ducs were advertised as sold out before release.

My local shop has 2 on the floor, waiting for someone with money.

Cause when you show up at the dealer looking for a blue one, and reward hasn't gotten off work yet, you will see a sign that says SOLD!

You can bet the first few busas at the dealers will all be sold before you get there without a deposit.

Made a deal! Lets hear how you did? When you say deal did you trade? Any deal that makes you happy is a good one. Crappy thing with a deal that far off is, if they sell like hot cakes you can bet they will jack the price with their hidden crap! But if they sit there you still have to pay their jacked hidden crap.

Well to answer vic-e55-201's question, depending on where you live like me, you only have one dealer in close proximenty. Also I have a long standing relationship with them and they are honsest and have done me right in all previous deals. Also they only get allotted so many in each color and it could be another month or two before they get another blue one. Putting a deposit ensures that I get the first one in blue basically.
As far as deal Im buying straight out and they came down $600.00, yeah there may be better deals out there down the road to save a couple hundred or so more, but I've waited along time for the update and its worth it to me. Im either going to sell or keep my 03' Im not trading due to the agravation of loosing too much $$$. My wife was not overly enthused about me getting another, but she enjoys riding and I pointed out the 08' overview where they said the rear seat was made more comfortable (or something to that effect! Pretty smooth yeah!!!

Of course you can get a deal if you shop. However, the dealer is counting on you walking in and saying "YEP...I want it!" Then they will do what they can to get every penny they can out of you.

I'll pay no more than $10k for the new bike and not a penny more....

I just called my Dealer, 10% Down will hold the first 2008 Busa. I told him I would see him 2nd of August (Payday). Latest he has heard is October or November delivery. He noted people putting money down will increase as the cycle magazine reviews are read.

Im putting my deposit next week of about 10K coz the dealer here says he will only receive 5 pieces in October. But all colors will be available, so im still debating between White & Orange.

Newbie here. FWIW I placed a deposit last week with ARS Powersports in Okeechobee (FL) for a blue one but I may in the meantime look for an 06 LE. ARS says November. I have no connection whatsoever to ARS but have bought many bikes and ATVs from them and I now don't even ask them for a price, I just take a check when I pick up the bike/atv so I don't know what the 08 price will be but I know it will be VERY fair. I always deal with Amber.
I am new to this forum so I should introduce myself, live in West Palm and have had 02 FZ1, 03R1, 04R1, 05 MV F4, 06 gixxer 1000, 07 Repsol, and want to add a Busa to the R1 and Repsol which are keepers.
R1 stays in FL. Repsol in NC, and plan to take the Busa to CA and leave it there. Kind of my own little fly and ride.
