got a couple of pics of the starter damage.cases arent broke but the hole where the gear shaft goes is broke.is there a fix.

I think you can fix it with this Marine Tex, epoxy resin, adhesives, silicone grease, engine treatment, cleaner, repair, bond, fill, seal, fiberglass, aluminum, plastics, Starboard, wood We have used it on cylinder head repair on multiple diesel engines.

Didnt another member have the same prob and posted they had it drilled and a sleeve fitted , try a search !!

There is a remedy for prevention, but not after the damage is done!

Put the pin back in place and have it tig welded around the pin in the area that broke off (You can add extra weld to beef it up and make it stronger than stock) then face off weld. Or you can have the whole hole filled in with weld then face it off and redrill hole. I know the first one works:sadlike:
