The site would've been gone years ago if you weren't posting 11.3837902 times a day lol
I'm only doing 2.44452174 per day so going to try to post more regular and quit using the like button so much too!

We made the announcement to the site because we had been working on the issue for months and it didn't seem that we were making any progress, as a matter of fact things got terribly worse. I guess this situation falls perfectly into the old adage that it's darkest just before the dawn. Just because we announced the site was going to close we never stopped researching or looking for the causal factors to the problems or at least try to find a solution to deal with them.

We had some slow and progressive gains over the past few weeks and our advertising revenue has been climbing to a parity of where it was previously. We aren't there yet but we now have some hope, we are pretty sure what was causing the issues but we can't exactly explain how or why it happened.

I guess in the end knowing how isn't a requirement to keeping the site online but knowing what actions to take are critical. We have been making changes, adjustments and tracking the smallest details (Smallest details are where it's at) which allowed us to break through. With that said we have been tracking improvements for over a week and the evidence is matching our theories and strategic moves.

You probably noticed that we were offline literally all day yesterday ( and most of the night ) and that is because I was moving servers. We had been on the old system for 9 years, in IT that is like an eternity and to be honest time got away and it just didn't seem like that long. Yesterday's move allowed us to transition to equipment that is literally the difference in the phone you used 10 years ago and the one you have now, or the car you drive etc. We needed it and the change is complete and the site is running as smooth as I have seen it on some pretty incredible hardware.

What does all of this mean? Figuring out what was causing Google advertising to drop was key and I have to be super honest I leveraged Google Gemini, Google Studio Streaming Ai and Agentic Ai and was able to sort out what was going on. I will tell you that without that assistance and knowledge I would NEVER have been able to sort out the data and find the details that drove us to make changes. Crazy crazy stuff, I work in the world of tech & software and Ai for a living but leveraging it for a real need and having my own personal success story is pretty incredible.

Enough of all that, we are pretty sure we've isolated the issues, we have moved to a new server and this will allow us to keep paying the bills MAYBE... It depends on you,

I do not want to take donations, I hate it I really do, so my ask is this. Just be a good member, a good internet citizen and for goodness sakes use your words. We added the like button on the threads years ago to give some parity to Facebook and from that day it's like we dumbed our members down. Everyone used to post replies and use their words to tell someone why they liked it but we took the shortcut and just started liking things.

The site get's it's revenue from advertisement impressions not from clicks, Google can tell how long someone actually sees an ad on the site so if you just click on pages that does nothing, clicking on banners does nothing. Just use the site, when you reply to threads, add a post, start a topic or just have a conversation all the money stuff just happens, it was designed that way.

Share your thoughts, share your experiences people care and want to hear about it, don't just read and use the site but ask yourself, am I posting as much as I am reading? If the answer is no then your taking more than your giving back. This is a community so keep it alive and participate.

Anyone that has been here long enough knows how much you hate to take donations but, please, keep the option available for those us that want to contribute. I promise, I won’t get mad because you didn’t personally compliment my gen3 or liked every single one of my posts and ask you for my couple of dollars back.
