Ok, I know I'm using the term "bike related" loosely by posting this in the General Bike Related forum... but technically I guess it barely qualifies as a bike.

Just saw these posted on another site. The poster said OCC built this for Cat. I'm kinda torn as to how to feel about this one. On one hand I'm still a child at heart and still love tractors, heavy equipment, big trucks, etc... so I like the theme and some of the elements. The wheels and the primary drive were perfectly executed. On the other hand, I'm so sick of the assclowns from OCC that I roll my eyes just typing those three letters together in this post.

I guess I'll give them attaboy points for some of their design ideas and execution, and then take all those points back because the thing is as worthless as tits on a boar hog. I guess congrats to OCC for building another useless novelty ship anchor on two wheels.

The front rim looks like it weighs a hundred pounds...

+ the exhaust might start to cook your back....

still, these bikes aren't really meant to be ridden anywhere

it's also kinda funny that the thing doesn't need a kickstand. What's the turning radius on this thing - 100 ft?

I think I'm going to puke. Seriously what ever happened to "real" custom bike builders. Guys that had a vision and created it in aluminum and steel with fire and sweat. Where are all the guys that build the bikes they want and to damn with public opinion. Sure Jesse James still builds bikes like that but there is still some commercialism creeping into his designs. Even going as far as trying to one up himself and shock the "press".

They need to do a show on Discovery about sportbikes, customizing and upgrading. A bike that needs to be ridden!

^ what he said!!

im sorry, OCC use 2 b cool when they 1st started, now the #### they do.. its jsut way out in lefft field. they need 2 get away from the same old "custom" chopper and start doing sports bikes.

If they did they would go with a shop that builds slammed, stretched bling bikes with six foot long swingarms and shid... Those bikes are just as useless to me as this chopper is. At best, just like with the useless choppers, I can appreciate the effort put into some of them but I have absolutely no use for them.

That's why I said do a bike that NEEDS to be ridden, not a show bike. Some customizing, but more upgrading. More "user" friendly.

To me, the most creative part is the primary cover. Kudos to the CAD designer that drew up and programmed it. Other than that, they did a great job of capturing the bulldozeresque qualities of the CAT line!

Easy there fella's.

OCC builds real bikes too, they just don't show them on TV because no one would watch it.

What is shown on TV is artwork...and it has to be appreciated as such. They don't build these bikes to be ridden, they build them to be displayed. It is kind of cool to have something we love so much (motorcycles) made into artwork.

But if you watch the program you learn that the bikes you see built on TV are not the only bikes that come out of OCC. They do build choppers that are made to be ridden...not these fanciful works of art.

So, don't get too worked up about it. I think it is great what they are doing. They have made the public A LOT more aware of the "existance" of motorcycles and A LITTLE more receptive to them (even to sportbikes).

And I'm sure in time, someone will come out with a "biker build off" for sport bikes, I mean look at pimp my ride. It's kind of the same principle/crowd.

I dont know maybe it's me. You have a guy like Paulie Jr that builds custom bikes for a living w/a creative eye and the boy does have some talent that shows at times. On the other hand from a business perspective he has MAJOR COMPANIES contacting him to do something to represent their company name/logo. SNAPON, CAT, NASCAR, etc. To the point that he's doing star movie bike to match the roles. I ROBOT, SPIDER MAN, etc.

If you ask me their painter has some skills but they should get away from the greatfull dead type artists and somone with some flavor.

NEver the less at $150-$200K per bike Id build em a piece of shytt that moves with their sticker on it and I wouldnt care what you thought.

I also bet that he drives around just trying to find an idea for something he hasnt done yet. Thats gota be tough tooo.

Hell most of us that cut our grass do the same thing. Looking jealously at the neighbors yard and try to make our own into something nice.

Has to make you wonder whats next.

You make some good points, Jay, and "art" does have a place. In fact, I think some of their stuff is nice to look at.

But this one is UGLY

Just the Iowa boy in me - the phrase "worthless as tits on a boar hog" is technically incorrect. The gene for the teat line on the female is carried by the male.....

"Sweats like a pig" is incorrect as well, pigs have no sweat glands....

Yeah, I'm a hick....... ;)

Ok, some might say the theme bikes are art. I can go along with that. I just have no use for a bike that can't be truly ridden. I don't see them as art. I see them as useless chunks of metal. Yeah, some of them are neat, and I'll give Jr. credit for pulling some really cool stuff from his arse on some of them... Still, the fact is I wouldn't pay $10k for one of their theme bikes unless I could turn around and sell it for a profit. Nevermind paying $150-200k for them.

I guess these bikes represent the epitome of the status symbol hype of Harley type bikes and the people who buy and ride them just to say they own and ride a Harley (or insert "custom" chopper make here...). At the same time there are folks who buy and ride busas, 10R's, 1000RR's, Gixxer1k's, etc... for the same reasons.

Also, I'm not saying that everyone should think and feel the same way I do about it. I'm just laying my opinion out there.

I didn't say they don't have 'em. I said they are useless. Ever seen a male hog nurse young with his breast milk?
