Needle /Roller Bearing Shifter Mod

This may be a new mod. It's the first time I've tried it. You know the sideward play in the shifter, the plastic bushings do wear out and the side play was getting worse. I drilled the hole in the shift lever assy part #7967028-001 to a 5/8" inner diameter. Then purchased a roller bearing assy from a 2001 GSX-R1000 starter clutch (RN 12X16X16 BRG) part #3098398-001 $6.11 and the inner piston pin 2001 GSX-R1000 part #478558-001 $5.88. Then drilled out the bracket which houses the shift lever to accomodate the piston pin. It's all held into place with an 8mm bolt and nut 10.9 hardness. With a little fine tuning adjustment, virtually all of the sideward play is now gone. It feels smooth as butter. I can see my self doing this mod on all future bikes unless it's one of those 30K dollar ducati's which already have the mod.
A couple pics of the new paint job. Loading the bike with another busa out of Fremont, CA in the truck tomorrow and heading to reno to join in the fun.

Other than a cold beer on a hot day my dringing days are much over. Purchased the bike with 18K miles. It now has 22K.
