Need some good thoughts

We became temporary guardians of a 13 year old girl today. Her step father is under investigation. Yes the first thought that comes to mind......

The young lady, my wife and I would appreciate any good thoughts, prayers, good vibes or what ever!

The mother is a good friend of ours and I have watched this girl grow up. My heart is sick for her and on fire with rage at him.

DHR did a home inspection and officially placed her with us this afternoon for an undetermined amount of time. I don't know a lot yet but I know she is safe and that is enough for now!!

going thru something similar here as well my wife's freind dies last year and her daughter went to stay with her aunt, long story short , things didnt go well so she is here with us now and doing better. kudos to you for being there when a child is in need

Very upstanding of you and your wife to take in this young girl and give her a safe place to stay/live. I pray the allegations against her stepfather are not true but if they are I hope they nail him to the wall. No child should ever have to suffer through something like this.

Because she is not leaving the step father until the allegations are proven one way or the other. DHR pulled her out of the house until further notice.

No need to sugar coat it on my behalf. I don't understand or like it either. At this time it doesn't matter as she is with us and out of that situation. She will have a safe and loving home here as long as is needed!!

Perhaps we should give him the benefit of the doubt until we know more. That said, the mom might be doing the right thing if he turns out to be innocent ... There is no simple way to resolve things like this. Hopefully it all works out best for the child!

That is exactly my position!! I do not have the luxury of emotion right now. All that matters to me is a safe, stable and loving environment!!
