Thanks for all the replies, as of right now I still haven't decided. But i'm leaning towards the busa, just sad that i'm going to have to re do anything after market i'm going to want to do on it. Any good recommendations for websites to get after market parts? I have heard its slower in acceleration than the 1k but, If its a lot more comfortable I am definitely going to go with the trade. I test ride it on Wednesday so wish me luck.

Keep the Gixxr and outright buy the Busa. The best of both worlds.

Trade the bike then sell the busa after the trade. With that money buy your self another good deal. Its plain and simple! extra money in your pocket.

Don't shoot me for this guys, but.... Why is it that our Busa's are still so expensive used?! I drive by an 08 14 everyday with a Mcintosh arm set at 6" over, lowered 1 1/4" up front, 2 " in the rear, Brock's short meg full system, pc3, bmc filter, clutch lockup, perfect midnight blue paint, 3,300 miles... $9,200!! Not hijacking the thread, just pointing out that while I love our beloved Busa's... I think they are way overpriced in the used market.

+1 on the $2000 difference max... He's probably wanting the $3k or so because he know how much you paid for the GSXR. But market value says that it should only be $2000 difference max.

...or buy one out right like some of the guys have said here. After owning bikes for a while you tend to have different bikes for different uses. I got 3 now... '09 hayabusa, '07 vstar 1300, '05 GSXR750 and looking to buy a Ducati Multistrada. I like them all for its individual merits... but my daily ride is my hayabusa!

They are not overpriced and I am happy that they hold their value. In 3 years, my HD isn't even worth half of what I paid for it. Goes to show that our Busa's are in demand not only because they are the fastest bike on the planet, they are the BEST bike on the planet.

That deal would get Blancas stamp of approval.
I'm 6'3 200 and can't even sit in a 1k for more than a minute without feeling line a contortionist. Unless you really need the handling advantage the 1k has I'd say do it. It may be a bit high but I'd do it.
Ride up on your bike with all $3500 but show him $3000 and see what happens.
Either way it sounds good. You'll never complain about not being comfy on a Busa coming from a 1k.

Ps....please post pics tomorrow after you get

Other than your size, what is your riding style?

As much as I love the BUSA and it's ALL AROUND abilites.....it's just not what some people like. It's also almost a 100lbs heavier so you may not like it. Just something to think about unless you do track days then you might miss the 1k.

As others have said, your bike and $2k or less would be a good trade.

When a bike is customized you have a harder time finding someone who wants the bike exactly as is.

Bone stock just appeals to more buyers, IMO.

I got the BUSA!!! 2500$ plus my bike for trade. Pretty happy with the deal. First thing is get rid of those big ass exhausts lol.

I'm thinking about ordering a set of chrome fatty pipes, I've read that they rub on the kick stands. Any solutions to this? or any other suggetions for exhausts? I'm just looking for a slip on.
Thanks in advance.

Looks great (I love that color) and I think you got a good deal. Now ditch those ugly reflectors and exhaust. Same the slip on money and get a system and shed 40 pounds..JMHO
