They will ask you what your views are on using deadly force. If you tell them you are not willing to use deadly force, you will not get hired. If you seen a little to eager to use deadly force, you will not get hired. Its a tough job and you will never been seen in a good light (just look at some of the commets above). You have to be quick to make hard decisions and stand by them. I have been in the Illinois state system as a C/O, gang specialist, cycle trainer, range master and tactical officer going on 13 years. The job is different from the county system, but I have quite a few friends that do that job also. If you want to talk, PM me, there is alot more involved than you might think.
