Stock is 18/43 and 114 link chain.

If I go to 16 in the front with the stock rear will the 114 link chain length work?

Is there a way to calculate the effects of gearing changes on the revs in gears? Really just concerned with 1st and 6th.

Anyone running 16/43 on a K8?

Then of course the speedo? Think I read -1 +2 got it pretty close to actual=indicated, but don't remember if it was Gen 1 or 2.

            This is a good one

Here's what I'm thinking, don't know if it's valid. 18 divided by 43 is 42%. 16 divided by 43 is 37%. A difference of 5%. So say at 4000 RPM + 5% is 4200 RPM?

Just wonder if it works out that way or if I'm FOS, usually it's the latter.

i dissagree(BUT IM NO EXPERT EITHER,AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW)....., only for the reason....i whould think it would vary throughout the RPM range? i know if your speedo is off by say -3mph @ 15mph it would be like -10mph @ 65mph, but i not too clear on this either, SOOO i guess i just waisted yours and my time

I figure every one tooth up in the rear is 500 rpm increase. If you went with a 42 tooth rear the rpm increase is 1000 rpm.
