Kickstand

I finally got around to doing the kickstand mod yesterday and I noticed the stand has a bunch of vertical play.

With the bike on the swingarm stand and the kickstand down, I can pull the kickstand towards me about 1/2 to 3/4". When let go the spring just pulls it back.

Locknut is not loose and tightened to specs. Is this just part of the design or do I need to try out my extended warranty?

Mine has been the same way since day one, I am pretty sure. Might be intended to put a "bind " on the stand once weight is on it to help keep the bike from rolling. Apparently it's not enough.

Thanks for the info, I believe you're right. Just checked my 2 Honda's and their stands move the same way.

Just one of those things I never gave much thought to until now.
