This is a sick piece of unfounded mis-researched and opinionated editorial trite I have ever seen. He needs to turn in his credentials to the Sun-Sentinel and go back to college because that was complete and utter crap.:rulez:

i'd like to see a further break down of motorcycle accidents.
make/model
engine size
class of bike
rider age
experience
speed
anything else relevant?
this way, we could pinpoint who is involved in most of these, and what they are riding, and what caused it. then attempt to lower these numbers by intelligent means using education, saftey and steps to ensure EVERYONE has motorcycle awareness whe sharing public roads.

as far as outlawing motorcycles in a country which was founded on fighting for her freedom and independence is downright silly.

This just in: Walking has been BANNED!

The Federal government has deemed that the safest way to prevent injury from falling is to ban all but the safest forms of transportation. Therefore, walking, along with runing, driving and flying to name a few, is OUT! To address the issue of how to get around safely without walking, the gov't has purchased 7 trillion Floating Armchair Transportation Assitant units (FATA$$ units).***Yes, there's only 7 billion people, but the gov't is planning ahead and a close personal friend of congressman bid on the contract to make the things. We need jobs, right?

You will be contacted within 630 days with instructions on how to receive your gov't issued FATA$$ unit. Until then...

DON'T YOU DARE FUGGING MOVE!

Let them ban motorcycles. I will be one of the first people to enter the illegal world of bike trading. I’ll start off small, slanging scooters on the corner working my way up to liter bikes. But eventually, I will the head the largest Busa Cartel the world has ever seen.

Thanks for your email commenting on my Auto Erotica column entitled “Ban the Motorcycleâ€￾ in City Link. I promise to read every email sent in – and there’s been a lot – and include excerpts (anonymously) from some of your emails in an upcoming column. - Hugh

I think this kind of response is what this dude wants... the more contraversial the article, the more the responses he gets, the more his article is passed around and read, and the more his boss praises him.

Then again he could be just another arrogant punk with a complex.

i've always thought that riding would be much safer if all drivers were required by law to start out on a scooter during their permit period. then were promoted to a 250-600cc motorcycle for the first 2 years. after that you can then get your motor vehicle driver's license.

He just sounds like a guy with a column, and the ability to get attention by talking about banning something he has no interest in. If we talked about banning one of his hobbies, I'm sure we'd get a response from him similiar to ours lol. Its easy to talk about banning something you have no interest in
Life's dangerous......if we banned all the dangers, existence would be pointless  When I'm doing 180+ on my VERY safe stretch of empty desert highway, on my stable as a brick busa, I feel as alive as it gets  I've been doing that on different bikes for 30+ years now, and wouldn't have it any other way :beerchug:
