(tdrcomm @ Feb. 13 2007,19:06) I thought about doing this before I went to The Gap but changed my mind. Does anyone have a before and after pic they can post?

I'm 5'9", 178 - wouldn't adjusting my preload give me the same results as raising the rear? I really like how the bike fits me now but a little better twisty handling ain't nothing to sneeze at.
If you crank down the preload to raise the rear an inch, you are going to make the rear suspension extremely stiff!

By using the dogbones to raise the rear an inch, the rear suspension will feel the same as before. Your seat is higher and your body will be angled a little more forward.

At first I could feel the change in my wrists. But after a couple days of training myself to stay off the wrists in the new position, I wasn't noticing the changed rider position anymore. It doesn't take long to adapt.

(tdrcomm @ Feb. 13 2007,23:15) bigoltool, thanks! What size tire are you running?
190/50 Metzeler Z6 in the rear and a 120/70 M3 in the front. FWIW the Z6 is about a Half inch narrower than the M3 it replaced which was in turn about a half inch narrower than the stock BT56, all 190/50-17's.

Big props to CharlesBusa for taking the time to show me bike and let this Asian/White kid from Garden Grove sit on it to get the feel of the mod.
