I have a 06 busa, at times when i go to stop the bike will jsut shut off. I went to the dealer where I bought it and ask if the y had heard of any problems. The guy that ownes the shop is a dichhead. We he said they have ever heard of this problem. and that was it. Not let us take a look at it or anything like that. So I went home a did a search about this. I found that the idle was too low, so I bumped it up a bit. It just pisses me off when you buy something from dealers and after the sale they act like they don't know you. Just want to vent and let others know of the problem and how to fix it. IDLE should be around 1200-1250 rpms.

When I got mine the idle was just under 1000 and kept dying. They said that is supposed to be like that. That was bs. I ajusted it to about 1150.Within the month it went back down to 900 all by itsself. My mechanic (not a steelership)said that it was a computer chip set at that idle. That sucks either I take it to a steelership and have them reset or ajust every month .I'm ajusting every month thankyou??? Anyone else have this issue???

Common problem....especially the later models it seems. I seem to have to adjust mine at the change of seasons leading me to speculate that its the spring rate on the screw tension spring.

set the idle ...then rotate the spring around the idle screw while holding the screw in place...you will feel the tension 'unload' (which will keep the spring from twisting the screw in the wrong direction again).
then apply a small amount of blue loctite if you wish to hold it in place.

No offense but your mechanic is an idiot and shouldn't be allowed to touch your Busa.

The idle is only controlled by an ajustment screw not the computer. A few Busas have a problem with the screw moving from vibration over time, as already mentioned, place a bit of loctite or even a nailpolish to keep it from moving out of adjustment.

Hell, the Busa computer is so primative it can't even compensate for a cold start, hence the cheesey fast idle lever on the handle bar.
