hid questions

ive done alot of reading on the site about those that have them on their busa's. im in the market for sum but im still undecided. my busa is my riding bike. i just wanna be able to see better at nite without blinding the oncoming traffic. so can yall suggest which numbers to get and who i would be best getting them from. I seen on one thread someone had a pretty straight forward kit. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I have 5000k bulbs and they are a brilliant white. They defintiely help, no doubt about it, but you are going to blind some other drivers, it's just a given. It won't be the same as having your brights on, but definitely more intense than your standard bulbs.

DDMtuning.com is where I got mine...You need 2 kits.... one for each headlamp low and high. 35watt kit works fine... but if you more 55watt kits I have heard work too for headlights on bikes. I like the 6k bulbs slight blue. 5k is white. I have seen the 8ks... to much blue for me! I have had the kit on my busa for over a year... no issues. 6 months on my 09 1k... and did a kit for my girl friend last night! If you got any more questions PM me and Ill give you my number! Oh.... Gen 2's are h7 (low beam) and h9 (high beam) and gen1's are h7 (low beam) and h5 (high beam)! So whatever h.i.d kit you get make sure you know what you need!

go with the 8k bulbs. and dont worry about on coming traffic. your the one on a bike

gen1's are h7 (low beam) and h5 (high beam)

Gen 2's are h7 (low beam) and h9 (high beam)

5k bulbs are white in color

6k bulbs slight blue (Seel link above with 09 1k... pics. of boths hids on)

8k bulbs more blue

12k bulb are purple


I recommend the 35 wat kit for a few reasons. One slightly cheaper. Two slightly smaller. Three less heat then the 55watt kit. Four less drain on electrical system. Five because it is a great mod over stock. Stock 55watt bulbs produce around 900 lumens of light. The 35 watt kits are around 2800 to 3200 lumens of light. Much better then stock. The 55 watt kits are around 5000 lumens, but I havent put one on yet to confirm any heat issues or wiring issues..... that will change in a few weeks. I am installing a 55wat kit on a 09 Cbr 1k and then can tell you what I think next to my bikes!

I did my Gen 1 (06) with DDM 35Watt 5K kits (low and high)

I ride all the time with both beams on. Granted the roads here where I live are like hgwys and lit up even at 3am , but I never get flipped from oncoming cars cuz I am blinding them.
Actually I get flipped less cuz while you see better they are not as how should I say offensive to oncoming cars as the oems were.
