Subject: [Hayabusa] Bike ad scam

There was an ad in our small community paper for a 03 Hayabusa with
1243 miles for $5000.  Obvious scam.  The seller did not provide a
phone number, only an email address.  I looked up his email on Google
(NLNEVE2@AOL.COM)and found that this guy has posted the same ad in
small town newspapers across America for the past three months.  I
decided to play along.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I saw your ad in the paper today.  Do you still have the bike?  I
would like to see it.

Hello,

How are you?

Thank you for your interest in my 2003 Suzuki Hayabusa.
This bike is powered by a 1300cc engine in great runing condition. It
looks perfectly and runs acordingly. It is super clean, has excellent
brakes and tires and is ready to ride. This is a great looking, great
running bike. You will find no damages, scratches, cracked plastics
or bent metals on it. Stored in a climate controlled garage its
entire life. It carries the factory warranty. This bike is perfect in
every way. Unable to tell from new!

Barely ridden by adult, kept in garage all the time. Only 1283 miles.
Clear title in hand and ready to sign. Owners manual in English. Bill
of sale provided once with the bike. I am the only owner.
All documents, including owner's manual in english, clear title and
bill of sale will be provided along with the bike.

I am located in London, United Kingdom. I was promoted and I moved
here last month with my family. I took the bike with me and I took
great care of this beauty. Now I am looking for a sale because I have
to put up a payment for my house and I need the cash.

I attached a few pictures of the bike. I have more, so just ask.
Get back to me asap so we can talk more.

Thank you!
Danny

(Ooooo.  Like, send $2K right now if really interested!)

Sounds cool.  Give me your number and lets coordinate.  Where is the
bike being delivered from?

RON

************************

Hi,

I dont have a phone# yet I just moved here. Shipping point: London,
UK. I cover the shipping fees.

I am willing to accept a US$2,000.00 deposit on my name and actual
address to close the deal. This way I will have a sign from you that
you are a serious buyer and you have the money for me. The deposit
will be made by wire transfer so we can close the deal right away.
This is a sign of trust and just a deposit to close our deal. I will
not pick up the funds, only check if they are there. After I see that
the funds are available I will start delivery same day from London on
my expense. I will expect the rest of the money after you inspect the
Hayabusa or take it to a mechanic for his OK.
If you dont like it, you will send me the bike back on your expense,
and you will take your money back right from Western Union after
that. They will hold the money meantime and you can withdraw at any
moment if you dont get the Suzuki in a few days.

Danny

*************************

(Yeah, like send me the money, NOW!)

Send me your name and address.  Don't you at least have a work phone?

RON

the payment details and its a deal! I will deliver with no delay.

REPLY WITH:

1. MTCN # (10 digits confirmation number for the transfer)
2. sender's exact name on file with them for this transfer + delivery
address
3. confirm the amount sent

Thank you for all the support!
Danny

(The ####### provides me with an address of a hotel in London)

Can I just mail you a check in the full and I you wait until it
clears?  I do not trust Western Union - I have had a bad experience
with them.

Yep, when I was first looking for a Busa I could afford I went down some of those avenues....... Wished I could actually get my hands on these crooks....

Keep posting, interested in what comes out of it

I also eamiled the crook, and will let you know what happens.
PERSONALLY I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ALL LIST MEMBERS PLAY WITH THIS CROOK, AND SEE HOW FAR IT GOES. THIEVES DESERVE NO CONSIDERATION!!!!

I found alot of scams on Ebay and Cycle trader when I was shopping for a Busa...one guy even claimed to be in my area and would not even let me come over and pay cash...he insisted that I pay via Paypal then he would ship the bike....what a maroon.

Of course he gave himself up easily anyways because you could tell thru his emails that american english was not his first language.

WTF ...

SCAMMERS

Dude you should mess with this guy on purpose. Tell him you don't need to give him a deposit. Tell him you want the bike as quick as possible so you sent the entire 5,000 to him via western union and tell him he can go collect it as soon as he wants. Thats what I would do. lol. Fug that a-hole let him drive all the way there with his hopes up for nothing.

While I am waiting on my LE this week up here in Northern VA... I thought I would add some correspondence I had with one of these focking scammers about a month ago.. I too saw these $5000 Hayabusas and initially had no idea that they were all scams.. now that i know, why not waste his time and see how far i can take this..

That is hilarious. See thats what we all need to start doing. Waste their time like they do ours with these F'n scams.

There are two of these ads in the current copy of our local CycleTrader, literally side by side.  Both texts look almost identical:

1)  "Please send me an email and them we will speak at the phone" (no email address listed; only a phone number of 817-714-9221)
2)  "Send me an email at craioveanu11 @ yahoo.com for more details and then we will speek at the phone" (and a phone number of 973-731-7841)

Both '02 Busas, one at $5500 the other at $5000.

Dude,
Tell this @$hole that you will be in London next week on company business in the corporate jet and you need his address and you will deliver the money by Traveler's checks in person and bring the bike back home on your company plane. Then watch him try to squirm his way out of it!

When he told me he was in Europe I said...

Great Dan!  I am Greek in origin and my father and Brother in law are in London.  They live there!  Give me an address and I will send them over with cash to see the bike.  If all is well they will buy it on the spot!

The fuggin bastage never wrote back.  I had a guy do that to me through e-bay but the bastage said he was stationed in Greece--Athens no less!  I threw the same story at him (since my whole family lives there)  and I am still waiting for a response!  Corksuckers and iceholes man!
