Just got a hi-beam hid hooked it up and while the bike is
running, I turn on the hi beam and it kills the bike. Anyone
Experience this?

check all your connections, your hi beam might be shorting out . take it all off re-set the stock lights.. and start over.. shouldn't take that long.

Sound like a bad Ballast, swap the high beam ballast to to low beam and see what happens.
If the bike dies on low beam the ballast is shorting the bike out!

Wait a minute
What year is your bike??

Also have you replaced the left hand switch housing?

Did the stock high beam work?

Bike is a 01, no I haven't replaced the switch housing. Factory lights work fine. I just bought
a used gear indicator and a used hi-beam hid. If i unplug the gear indicator hid works as it should. As soon as I
Plug the gear indicator back into the 12v harness in the nose section and try turning on the hid it cuts off. If I do
the same thing with factory light bulb the bike does not turn off. I think with the gear indicator and the hid plugged into the same wire harness its just pulling to many amps or whatever and cutting the bike off. Any thoughts? I think I will run its own power wire
With a relay????

Contact Greg, at Smithabusa, to make sure the gear indicator is not the problem!
