Finally made the toy run that I didn't get to last week. Since last Christmas we, my wife primarily have been collecting toys to donate for kids this Christmas. Today I dropped them off at Shriner's Children's Hospital in Sacramento. The good folks there were very happy to recieve the donation.
They have a burn unit and on the way in with the boxes passed many, many children in the lobby recovering from burns. Most notably, four young sister's aged from around 4 to 13 or 14 severly burned on every square inch of exposed skin I could see.
Walked out of there thinking two things: next year I'm playing a much more active role in her toy acquisitions and I'm a whole lot more foutunate than I've ever realized.
