No - this v v v is a motorcycle License and Registration check... Cherokee, NC coming off the southern end of the BRP.
Actually, there was a fatal accident and the LEO was telling folks to turn around. Although, I've done nothing wrong lately (OK - just 3 speeding tickets and one failure to stop in 60 days) a mis-spent youth has left me with a permanant predator/prey reaction to police.
"It's the sheriff!" - RUN - Wait! - we're not doing anything... RUN anyway!
Really I knew I'd done nothing wrong, but the policeman's expression was so serious I couldn't figure out what the problem was... Until he said there's been a very serious accident. "Ok - got it!"
